History It is one of the oldest loco sheds, started by the british as a B.G Steam Loco Shed, later converted to B.G Diesel Loco Shed in 1963. Gooty ( ) is a town in Anantapur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarters of Gooty mandal in Anantapur revenue division. The town is renowned for the Gooty Fort, Gooty hill fort. Geography Gooty is located at , at a distance of 52 km from Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Anantapur. South Coast Railway Zone
South Coast Railway Zone (SCoR) has been announced as the newest railway zone of the Indian Railways and is headquartered at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The formal notification for operationalization of this Zone is yet to be issued. Jurisdiction South Coast Railway will be headquartered at Visakhapatnam and have three divisions. Guntakal Railway Division is one of the three divisions of South Coast Railway zone (SCoR) of the Indian Railways.
