Diego Simonet
Diego Esteban Simonet (born 26 December 1989) is an Argentine handball player for Montpellier and the Argentina men's national handball team. He represented Argentina at the 2011 World Men's Handball Championship in Sweden, 2012 London Summer Olympics, 2013 World Men's Handball Championship in Spain and 2015 World Men's Handball Championship in Qatar. His action defending Argentina brought home six continental championships (2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2014). Two of his brothers, Sebastian and Pablo, defended Argentina at Olympic and World Championship competitions. The XII South American Games (Spanish: ''XII Juegos Suramericanos Asunción 2022'') was a multi-sport event held between 1–15 October 2022 in Asunción, Paraguay. The Games were organized by the South American Sports Organization, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, the government of the Republic of Paraguay and the local Secretaria Nacional de Deportes, National Secretary of Sports. Pablo Ariel Simonet Moldes (born 4 May 1992) is an Argentine handball player for BM Benidorm and the Argentina men's national handball team. 2015 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015. The Qatari bid was selected over those of Norway, Poland and France after a vote by the IHF Council on 27 January 2011, in Malmö, Sweden. This was the third time that the World Championship was hosted in the Middle East And North Africa, after Egypt in 1999 and Tunisia in 2005. France won the final against Qatar 25–22 to win their fifth title, a first in handball history while Qatar won their first ever medal. 2013 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2013 World Men's Handball Championship was the 23rd World Men's Handball Championship, an international handball tournament that took place in Spain from 11 to 27 January 2013. This was the first time Spain hosted the World Men's Handball Championship, becoming the twelfth country to host the competition. Spain won the title, beating Denmark in the final 35–19. It was Denmark's second final in a row. Argentina competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. 2011 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2011 World Men's Handball Championship, the 22nd event hosted by the International Handball Federation, was held in Sweden from 13 to 30 January 2011. All matches were played in Malmö, Lund, Kristianstad, Gothenburg, Skövde, Jönköping, Linköping and Norrköping. In the preliminary round, 24 teams from all the world's continents were split into 4 groups, with the first-placed 3 teams advancing through the main round in two groups, carrying the previously won points against the remaining teams. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team.
