Die Ärzte
(; ) is a German rock band from Berlin. It consists of guitarist Farin Urlaub, drummer Bela B and bass player Rodrigo González (musician), Rodrigo González. All three write and perform their songs. The band has released 14 studio albums. History 1982–1985: Early years, debut album were formed in West Berlin in 1982 by Jan Vetter (alias Farin Urlaub, a pun on the expression "Fahr' in Urlaub", meaning "Go on vacation"), Dirk Felsenheimer (alias Bela B, referring to Dracula actor Bela Lugosi) and bassist Hans Runge, alias . Bela and Farin had previously played together in the Punk rock, punk band Soilent Grün, established in 1979 and named after the film ''Soylent Green''. After Soilent Grün broke up in 1982, Bela and Farin decided to form another band. In the first two years (including Sahnie) they mostly played in clubs in their hometown, Berlin. Medusa
In Greek mythology, Medusa (; ), also called Gorgo () or the Gorgon, was one of the three Gorgons. Rodrigo González (musician)
Rodrigo "Rod" Andrés González Espíndola (born 19 May 1968) is a Chilean-born German musician known as the bassist and one of the singers of German rock band Die Ärzte. Early life González's parents were politically persecuted in Chile during the Augusto Pinochet, Pinochet dictatorship, and so were granted Right of asylum, asylum in Hamburg. His family initially lived there on social benefits until his father found work. He completed his ''Abitur'' (school-leaving exams) at the Gymnasium (school), Gymnasium Langenhorn. He has an older sister, Claudia, who also works as a musician (Universal González). As a teenager, González was a member of the band Die Erben. Dirk Albert Felsenheimer (born 14 December 1962),''Die Ärzte. Ein überdimensionales Meerschwein frisst die Erde auf'', p. 80 better known under his stage name Bela B (formerly Bela B.), is a German musician, songwriter, actor and author, best known for being the drummer and one of the singers of punk rock band Die Ärzte. In 2006, he released his first solo album entitled ''Bingo''. He is also an actor and has done several voice-overs for television and film. Jan Vetter (born 27 October 1963), better known as Farin Urlaub. (from the German ''Fahr in Urlaub!'', "Go on holiday!"), is a German singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is best known as the guitarist/vocalist for punk rock band . He has also been a solo artist since 2001, touring with his band, the Farin Urlaub Racing Team. His releases starting in 2006 are credited to the band. Early life Vetter was born on 27 October 1963 in West Berlin. ''13'' is the eighth studio album by German rock band Die Ärzte, released on 25 May 1998. It is their most successful album, going platinum record, platinum in Germany and Music recording sales certification, gold in Austria and Switzerland. The 13th track, "Männer sind Schweine", is their most successful single. The CD version of the album features a hidden track in the pregap of the first song. This technique was later used frequently—on ''Geräusch'', ''Jazz ist anders'', Farin Urlaub's ''Am Ende der Sonne'', and Bela B.'s ''Bingo (Bela B. album), Bingo''. On vinyl versions of ''Jazz ist anders'' and ''Am Ende der Sonne'' though, the hidden tracks are not lost, but put after the last track. The album features many film and TV samples. A permanent wave, commonly called a perm or permanent (sometimes called a "curly perm" to distinguish it from a " straight perm"), is a hairstyle consisting of waves or curls set into the hair. Hurra (song)
"Hurra" (in the booklet of the album, "Hurra!") is a song by the Punk rock, punk band Die Ärzte. It is the third track and the second single from their 1995 album ''Planet Punk''. In the fadeout, a sample from the movie Clerks (1994 film), Clerks can be heard („That's beautiful, man.“). The song lyrics state that the situation in Germany after German reunification, reunification is much better than before, which is meant Sarcasm, sarcastically. The video The video uses the single version of the song, which is slightly altered by some background voices and child's voice in the beginning and in the end. The video features the band performing the song in darkness; all band members are frowning, while the song sounds happy. This affirms that the song is meant sarcastically.
