Die Kinder Von Golzow
''The Children of Golzow'' (German: ''Die Kinder von Golzow'') is a documentary by the German filmmaker that was started in 1961 and lasted until 2007, when the series concluded. The film is a prolonged observation of the lives of several people in the Brandenburg town of Golzow. In 1985, the episode "Lebensläufe" was included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the movie with the longest production period. There is also a museum about the documentary in Golzow. Introduction Eighteen people born between 1953 and 1955 were filmed by Junge and his wife Barbara at regular intervals from 1961 to 2007 in a variety of situations which were both public as well as more having a more personal accent (such as the death of a relative). DEFA (''Deutsche Film-Aktiengesellschaft'') was the state-owned film studio of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) throughout the country's existence. Since 2019, DEFA's film heritage has been made accessible and licensable on the PROGRESS archive platform. Karl Gass
Karl Gass (2 February 1917, Mannheim, Grand Duchy of Baden – 29 January 2009) was a German documentary filmmaker. He was a soldier in the elite Panzer-Grenadier-Division Großdeutschland of the Wehrmacht throughout the duration of WW2, where he served as a lieutenant on the Western and Eastern campaigns, until he was captured by the British with the defeat of Nazi Germany. After being released from captivity after the war, he became a documentary maker. With over 120 films, he was among the most productive documentary directors of the GDR, and produced DEFA documentaries. He had the idea for the DEFA long term documentary "Die Kinder von Golzow" ( The children of Golzow). This is a list, in year order, of the most notable films produced in the Soviet Occupation Zone of Germany and the socialist German Democratic Republic (GDR, East Germany) from 1945 until German Reunification in October 1990. The state owned East German film company DEFA produced about 800 feature films between 1946 and 1992. Besides DEFA, the state broadcaster DFF and the Deutsche Hochschule für Filmkunst (now the Filmuniversität Babelsberg) were the only other organizations in the GDR that produced feature films for cinematic release, although far fewer than DEFA. DEFA also produced about 750 animated movies and more than 2500 documentaries and short films. The Simpsons
''The Simpsons'' is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company.
