''The Loneliness of the Crocodile'' (german: Die Einsamkeit der Krokodile) is a German satiric crime film directed and produced by Jobst Oetzmann, based on a novel by . Jobst Oetzmann
Jobst Christian Oetzmann (born 4 November 1961) is a German film director and screenwriter. He is best known for directing several episodes of the police crime drama series ''Tatort'', but he also made films based on literature, such as ''Die Einsamkeit der Krokodile'', that were presented at international film festivals. He served on the board of the German national organisation for film directors from 2005 to 2014. Early life and education Born in Hanover, Germany, Jobst Oetzmann began his film career without formal studies. At age 20, he began producing video films. He founded a company for their production in Munich in the mid-1980s, called ''Slim Jobst Oetzmann Produktion''. From 1985, he studied at the University of Television and Film Munich, graduating in 1991 in film and TV drama. The Preis der deutschen Filmkritik is a prize given by the German Film Critics Association, awarded to the best German films of the past year. The Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), prior to 2011 called the Brooklyn International Film Festival (BiFF) is an independent film festival held every June in Brooklyn, New York. Started by Marco Ursino, Susan Mackell, Abe Schrager, and Mario Pegoraro in 1998, its mission is to “discover, expose, and promote independent filmmakers while drawing worldwide attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema." Hof International Film Festival
The Hof International Filmfestival is a German film festival that takes place in Hof, Bavaria, every year in October. Apart from numerous foreign productions, the main focus traditionally is on German films. During six festival days, about 130 films (80 feature and documentary films as well as 50 short films) are shown in 8 theaters of 2 cinema centers, adding up to a total of 200 individual film presentations. With the exception of the retrospective, all films are German or world premieres.
