Dictated Aggression
''Dictated Aggression'' is the fifth full-length studio album from American crossover thrash band, M.O.D. It was released in 1996 on Music For Nations and follows 1994's studio album, ''Devolution''. Blackout Records subsequently re-issued the album with a different cover and enhanced CD content of a live concert in France. This would be the band's last album until 2003's ''The Rebel You Love to Hate'', although Billy Milano did appear on ''Bigger Than the Devil'' – an S.O.D. reunion album in 1999. Agnostic Front
Agnostic Front is an American hardcore punk band from New York City. Founded in 1980, the band is considered an important influence on the New York hardcore scene, as well as a pioneer of the crossover thrash genre. History First era (1980–1992) Formed in 1980 with Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Capuccio (formerly of the Eliminators) on lead guitar, with Diego on bass, Rob Krekus on drums and John Watson on vocals. Despite being billed at their first concert as the Zoo Crew, Stigma introduced them as Agnostic Front, saying that the poster had been made prior to deciding on the name. They soon added Ray Barbieri, aka Raybeez, on drums and Adam Mucci on bass. New York hardcore (also known as NYHC) is both the hardcore punk music created in New York City and the subculture and lifestyle (sociology), lifestyle associated with that music. New York hardcore grew out of the hardcore scene established in Washington, D.C., by bands such as Bad Brains and Minor Threat. Initially a local phenomenon of the 1980s and 1990s, New York hardcore eventually grew to establish an international reputation with little to moderate mainstream popularity but with a dedicated and enthusiastic underground music, underground following, primarily in Europe and the United States. ''Something's Gotta Give'' is the fifth full-length studio album by New York hardcore band Agnostic Front. It was released in June 1998 on Epitaph Records and follows 1995's ''Raw Unleashed'' compilation album. It is actually the first studio album since 1992's '' One Voice''. The album was co-produced by Billy Milano, the frontman of crossover thrash bands S.O.D. and M.O.D. The album marks a return to a more hardcore punk style of sound, rather than the thrash metal inspired music of ''One Voice''. Backing vocals, amongst others, were provided by Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen of Rancid, and Jimmy Gestapo of Murphy's Law. Another album swiftly followed in 1999, ''Riot, Riot, Upstart''. Stormtroopers Of Death
Stormtroopers of Death (abbreviated to S.O.D.) was an American crossover thrash band formed in New York City in 1985. They are credited as being among the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal into a style sometimes referred to as crossover thrash. The band is also known for reuniting Anthrax members Scott Ian (guitars) and Charlie Benante (drums) with their former bassist Dan Lilker. Their instrumental song "March of the SOD" from their 1985 debut album, ''Speak English or Die'', was the ''Headbangers Ball'' intro anthem for many years. Another song from the same album, "Chromatic Death", was also used during the show as a segue between ads and videos. The band was the source of some controversy due to their deliberately offensive lyrics. ''Bigger than the Devil'' is the second album by crossover thrash band Stormtroopers of Death (S.O.D.). The album was released in May 1999 on the Nuclear Blast label. Its cover design is based on Iron Maiden's 1982 album '' The Number of the Beast'' and its title is a play on words on The Beatles member John Lennon proclaiming The Beatles were " bigger (more popular) than Jesus Christ". Subsequent releases have included both the entire ''Seasoning the Obese'' EP—incorporating both tracks "Seasoning the Obese" and "Raise Your Sword"—as well as the "Ballad of the Scorpions" (originally released simply as "Rock You Like a Hurricane" on the Scorpions Tribute Album), bringing the total number of tracks to 28. ''Devolution'' is the fourth full-length studio album from American crossover thrash band, M.O.D. It was released in 1994 on Music For Nations and follows 1992's ''Rhythm of Fear''. Following the tradition of ever-changing line-ups, this album saw Milano swapping bass for guitar as well as vocal duties, with Dave Chavarri on drums being the only other member to appear on two consecutive albums. Tommy Klimchuck and Rob Moschetti took up the guitar and bass roles respectively.
