Dick Van Zant
Richard Van Zant (November 1864 – August 6, 1912) was an American third baseman in Major League Baseball. Nicknamed "Foghorn Dick", he played 10 games for the Cleveland Blues during the 1888 season. A third baseman, abbreviated 3B, is the player in baseball or softball whose responsibility is to defend the area nearest to third base — the third of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. In the scoring system used to record defensive plays, the third baseman is assigned the number 5. The Wheeling Nailers are a professional East Coast Hockey League, ECHL ice hockey team based in Wheeling, West Virginia.
