Dick Roberts (footballer, Born 1878)
Richard James Hollis Roberts (30 March 1878 – 5 March 1931) was an English footballer who played as a winger. Career Roberts was born in Redditch in Worcestershire. He turned professional with West Bromwich Albion in April 1899, but remained with the club for just two years. In May 1901 he joined Newcastle United for a £150 fee, before signing for Middlesbrough for £450 in April 1904. Roberts moved to Crystal Palace for £100 in August 1905, and three years later joined Worcester City Worcester City Football Club is an English football club based in Worcester, Worcestershire. The club play in the Midland Football League, the ninth tier of English football. Established in 1902, the club play at Claines Lane. Worcester City ..., before retiring in April 1909 due to injury. Charles "Dick" Roberts, (October 9, 1897 – November 1, 1966) was a professional banjo and guitar player. Roberts was born in Virginia. He substituted for Harper Goff with the Firehouse Five Plus Two when the latter had to leave the band because of his increasing engagements with Walt Disney's cartoon and movie productions. Dick Roberts (rugby Union)
Richard William Roberts (23 January 1889 – 8 March 1973) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A centre three-quarter, Roberts represented at a provincial level either side of World War I, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, for their 1913 tour of North America and 1914 tour of Australia, captaining the side on the latter tour. In all, he played 23 matches—nine as captain—for the All Blacks, including five internationals, and scored 102 points (22 tries, 15 conversions and two penalty goals). In 1918 Roberts was sent overseas as part of the 41st Reinforcements, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and served as a rifleman with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade.
