Richard Lewis (24 December 1935 – 10 June 2022) was the Dean of Wells from 1990 to 2003. Lewis was educated at the Royal Masonic School for Boys and Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. Ordained in 1960 he began his ecclesiastical career with a curacy in Hinckley following which he was Priest in charge of St Edmund, Riddlesdown. Rick Lewis is the founder and editor of ''Philosophy Now'' and thereby one of the main initiators of the popular philosophy movement in the English-speaking world. Work Lewis launched ''Philosophy Now'' in 1991, the first ever philosophy magazine worldwide. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the largest charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, as well as on some inland waterways. Dic Penderyn
Richard Lewis (1807/8 – 13 August 1831), known as Dic Penderyn, was a Welsh labourer and coal miner who lived in Merthyr Tydfil and was involved with the Merthyr Rising of 3 June 1831. In the course of the riot he was arrested alongside Lewis Lewis, one of the primary figures in the uprising, and charged with stabbing a soldier with a bayonet. The people of Merthyr Tydfil doubted his guilt, and signed a petition for his release. However, he was found guilty and hanged on 13 August 1831. After his death he was treated as a martyr in Merthyr and across Wales. Early life Richard Lewis was born in Aberavon, Glamorgan, Wales in 1807 or 1808, in a cottage named ''Penderyn''. He was the son of Lewis Lewis, a cordwainer and later a miner from Cornelly, and his wife, Margaret. Eric Timothy Lewis (born May 29, 1982 in Houston, Texas) is an American soccer defender. Career Lewis played college soccer at Clemson University for three years from 2000 to 2002. A starter for all three years, Lewis finished his career at the school with ten goals and 12 assists in 61 games. After his junior season, Lewis signed a Project-40 contract with MLS, and was selected 20th overall in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft by the Los Angeles Galaxy. As a rookie with the Galaxy, Lewis played in 13 games for the team, a starter in seven of those. Biography Born on 6 August 1947 in Winchester, Hampshire, Lewis signed for Hampshire in 1967, making his first-class debut against Oxford University that year. In 1968 he became a regular player in the Hampshire team after making his County Championship debut against Somerset. Richard Percy Lewis (10 March 1874 – 7 September 1917) was an English first-class cricketer active 1891–1907 who played for Middlesex, Oxford University and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). He was born in Kensington and died on active World War I service at Zonnebeke, West Flanders, Belgium. Lewis was educated at Winchester College and University College, Oxford.
