Dick Garrett
Eldo "Dick" Garrett (born January 31, 1947) is a retired American professional basketball player. Career A 6'3" guard from Southern Illinois University, Garrett was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 27th overall pick of the 1969 NBA draft. He played five seasons (1969–1974) in the National Basketball Association, one with the Lakers, three with the Buffalo Braves, and his final season that he split between the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks. He earned NBA All-Rookie Team honors during the 1969–70 NBA season after averaging 11.6 points per game for the Lakers. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5. The 1969–70 NBA Season was the 24th season of the National Basketball Association. The season ended with the New York Knicks winning the NBA Championship, beating the Los Angeles Lakers 4 games to 3 in the NBA Finals. Regular season The 1969–70 season saw the NBA into a new decade as well as a new era. The retirement of Bill Russell from the Boston Celtics at the end of the 1968–69 season effectively signaled the end of the Celtics dynasty that had dominated the NBA for the past decade. Diante Garrett
Diante Maurice Garrett (born November 3, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Ironi Kiryat Ata of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball for Iowa State University. High school career Garrett attended Harold S. Vincent High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a senior in 2006–07, he averaged 15.2 points and 5.3 assists per game, going on to be named the Milwaukee Player of the Year and was named first team all-state by the ''Milwaukee Journal Sentinel''. The Miller Brewing Company is an American brewery and beer company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was founded in 1855 by Frederick Miller. Molson Coors acquired the full global brand portfolio of Miller Brewing Company in 2016, and operates the Miller Brewery at the site of the original Miller Brewing Company complex. 1971–72 NBA Season
The 1971–72 NBA season was the 26th season of the National Basketball Association. The season ended with the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA Championship, beating the New York Knicks 4 games to 1 in the NBA Finals. As the 25th anniversary of the founding of the modern NBA, the league unveiled a new logo, inspired by the logo of Major League Baseball, to commemorate the occasion. It features the white silhouette of a basketball player dribbling, framed by red and blue. Jerry West of the Los Angeles Lakers was used as the model for the logo.
