Bill Dicey
William J. Dicey (May 25, 1936 – March 17, 1993) was an American blues harmonicist, singer and songwriter. He recorded two live albums and one studio album in his own name, as well as playing the harmonica and singing on a number of other musician's recordings. He was a regular fixture in the New York blues scene from the 1970s to the time of his death. Life and career Dicey was born in Annapolis, Maryland, United States, and first played the harmonica at the age of three, but began an interest in blues harmonica styling five years later. Having been given a Hohner Marine Band model, Dicey began playing on street corners with black musicians from his neighborhood. By his mid-teens, Dicey was playing the drums in an otherwise all-black group, playing R&B numbers of the time. In 1953, the whole ensemble were drafted with Dicey joining the United States Air Force. Cluer Dicey
Cluer Dicey (28 January 1715 – 3 October 1775) was an English newspaper proprietor, publisher of street literature, printseller and patent medicine seller, in London and later in Northampton. He was also proprietor of the Northampton Mercury newspaper from 1756 until his death in October 1775. Likewise he inherited and developed a huge distribution network in England for patent medicines. Family Cluer was born 28 January 1715 at London, the son of William Dicey (1690- 1756) and Mary his wife (nee Atkins). He was named after his uncle, John Cluer, a London printer and music publisher. He married Mary ometimes given as MariaNutshawe 7 October 1738. They had two sons, William (who died in infancy 1739) and Thomas, b. 1742. They also had three daughters, Charlotte, b. 1740; Sarah Ann b. 1746, and Elizabeth (dates not known). Maria died 3 February 1761, at Northampton. Edward Dicey
Edward James Stephen Dicey, CB (15 May 18327 July 1911) was an English writer, journalist, and editor. Life He was born on 15 May 1832 at Claybrook, near Lutterworth, Leicestershire. He was the second son of Thomas Edward Dicey, of an old Leicestershire family, who was senior wrangler in 1811, was a pioneer of the Midland Railway, and owned the ''Northampton Mercury.'' His mother Anne Mary, was sister of Sir James Stephen; aunt of Sir James Fitzjames Stephen and Sir Leslie Stephen. His younger brother was Professor Albert Venn Dicey. He was educated at home and, for about two years, at King's College, London. Edward went up to Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1850, was president of the Cambridge Union, and graduated B.A. in 1854 with a third class in the classical tripos, and as a senior optime in mathematics.
