Dibër County (; sq, Qarku i Dibrës) is one of the 12 counties of the Republic of Albania, spanning a surface area of with the capital in Peshkopi. The county borders on the counties of Durrës, Elbasan, Kukës, Lezhë, Tirana and the country of North Macedonia. It is divided into the four municipalities of Bulqizë, Dibër, Klos and Mat. The municipalities are further subdivided into 290 towns and villages in total. Debar Dialect
The Debar dialect ( mk, Дебарски дијалект, ''Debarski dijalekt'') is a member of the subgroup of the western and north-western dialects of the western group of dialects of Macedonian. The dialect is mainly spoken in the city of Debar and the surrounding areas in North Macedonia. The Debar dialect is closed with the Reka dialect and the dialect of Galicnik. Debar Lake
__NOTOC__ Debar Lake ( mk, Дебарско Езеро , translit=Debarsko Ezero; sq, Liqeni i Dibrës) is an artificial lake in the western portion of North Macedonia near the town of Debar after which it is named. A dam at Špilje blocks the Black Drin, the second longest river in the country. Lake Debar has a surface area of and is thus among the largest lakes in North Macedonia. It is deep and sits at an altitude of 580 Metres above the Adriatic. It was created between 1966 and 1968, after the existing dam at Špilje was raised to . Sanjak Of Dibra
The Sanjak of Dibra, Debar, or Dibër ( tr, Debre Sancağı, al, Sanxhaku i Dibrës, mk, Дебарски санџак, translit=Debarski sandžak) was one of the sanjaks of the Ottoman Empire. Its capital was Debar, Macedonia (modern-day North Macedonia). Today, the western part of its territory belongs to Albania ( Lower Dibra and Mat) and the eastern part to North Macedonia (Reka and Debar). Extent and subdivisions Besides Debar, the territory of the Sanjak of Dibra included part of northern Albania, namely Krujë and areas between the Mat and Black Drin rivers. In 1440, Skanderbeg was appointed as sanjakbey of the Sanjak of Dibra. Since the mid-19th century, the Sanjak of Dibra had consisted of two kazas: Debar and Reka.
