''Dibratrir Kabya'' is a 1970 Bengali black-and-white film starring Madhabi Mukherjee, Anjana Bhowmik and Basant Choudhury in the lead roles. The film was directed by Bimal Bhowmik and Narayan Chakraborty. The film won two National Film Awards at the 17th National Film Awards. It was based on the novel of the same name by Manik Bandyopadhyay. Overview The Biimaal or Bimal, is a sub-clan of the major Dir clan family. This clan is widely known for leading a resistance against the colonials in southern Somalia for decades which can be compared to the war of the Sayyid in Somaliland. The Biimaal mainly lives in Southern Somalia, the Somali region of Ethiopia, which their Gaadsen sub-clan mainly inhabits and in the NEP region of Kenya. Anubha Gupta (1930 - 14 January 1972) was an Indian Bengali actress, known for her work in Bengali cinema. She received the Best Actress in Supporting Role Award at the 26th Annual BFJA Awards for the film '' Hansuli Banker Upakatha.'' Early life Anubha Gupta was born in 1930 in Dinajpur, British India. She had an interest in dance and music since her childhood. She studied in Parry Charan Girls School and Shantiniketan. Career Gupta joined Bengali cinema as a playback singer when music director Robin Chatterjee introduced her to films. Her debut film as an actress was ''Samarpan'' which was released in 1949. Manik Bandyopadhyay lias Banerjee(; 19 May 1908 – 3 December 1956) is an Indian Litterateur regarded as one of the major figures of 20th century Bengali literature.
