Diarmuid Mac An Adhastair
Diarmuid Mac an Adhastair, (9 December 1943 – 10 July 2015) was an Irish actor who portrayed the character Seamus Mhicil Tom on the Irish drama, ''Ros na Rún''. He appeared from the pilot in 1996 up until the show's nineteenth season. His prior acting was in amateur drama, and he also acted in two short films and a documentary about his life. His pastimes included fishing and wood carving. () is an Irish soap opera produced for the Irish-language television channel TG4. The series is set in a fictional village called Ros Na Rún, located near to An Spidéal, and focuses on the domestic and professional lives of its residents. ''Ros na Rún'' has been praised for its tackling of realistic and socially challenging storylines, which got it dubbed "the Wild West". It has dealt with many different storylines, including domestic violence, infidelity, theft, arson, abortion, homosexuality, adoption, murder, rape, drugs, teen pregnancy and paedophilia. Pól Ó Foighil
Pól Ó Foighil (1 June 1928 – 21 March 2005) was an Irish politician and activist for Irish-speaking, coastal and island communities. A teacher turned co-operative manager, he was an active member of the Fine Gael party, and as a long-serving councillor he was the party's only elected representative in the Connemara Gaeltacht for two decades. He also served as a senator from 1989 to 1993. Early life and family Ó Foighil was born in Thurles, County Tipperary, and was educated by the Christian Brothers in Thurles and at University College Galway (UCG). His first job was as a teacher in the Cois Fharraige area of south Connemara, and he settled in Inverin. He married Chrissie Nic Eoin, and they had seven children.
