Dianne Brushett (October 11, 1942 – July 11, 2017) was a Canadian politician. Education She has her master's degree in Atlantic Canada Studies from St. Mary's University, and received her Canadian Securities license after leaving government in 1997. Career She co-founded and managed Dominion Biologicals Ltd. until 1990. Political career Brushett was a member of the Liberal Party of Canada and a former Member of Parliament in the House of Commons of Canada, representing the riding of Cumberland—Colchester from 1993 to 1997. She served as the Atlantic Regional Assistant Whip while in Parliament. Brushett ran again in the 2000 and 2004 federal elections, but was defeated both times. She previously served as the president of the Cumberland—Colchester—Musquodoboit Valley Liberal Association, ending in 2007. Dianne Poole (born June 28, 1949) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. She served as a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1987 to 1995. Background Poole has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Trent University, and was a law clerk and social worker before entering political life. She also served as chair of the Women's Perspective Advisory Committee, and was a member of the French Immersion Task Force of the Toronto Board of Education. Politics Poole ran for the Ontario legislature in the 1985 general election, losing to Progressive Conservative David McFadden by 914 votes in the Toronto constituency of Eglinton. She ran again in the 1987 provincial election, and defeated McFadden by 695 votes amid a landslide victory for the Liberals. In 1989, she was appointed as a parliamentary assistant. Dianne Yerbury (born 25 March 1941) is an Australian university administrator and company director. She was the Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia from 1987 to 2005. She was Australia's first female Vice-Chancellor, and was also the longest serving Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University. In 1987 she was also made Professor Emerita at the University of New South Wales. Dianne Fae Yates (born 29 November 1943) is a New Zealand politician. She is a member of the Labour Party. Member of Parliament Yates first entered Parliament in the 1993 election, representing the Hamilton East electorate. In the 1996 election, she was defeated in Hamilton East by National's Tony Steel, but remained in Parliament as a list MP. She recaptured Hamilton East again in the 2002 election by a majority of 614 votes. However, in the 2005 election she lost the seat to National's David Bennett by a significant 5,298 votes, and again became a list MP. In August 2007, she announced that she would retire from Parliament by the end of the year in order to stand for the Hamilton City Council. This she did, but she was unsuccessful, finishing 7th. Dianne Warren (born August 28, 1950) is a Canadian novelist, dramatist and short story writer. Background Warren was born in Ottawa, Ontario. Her mother grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan and worked in Ottawa during the 1940s. Her father, a World War II veteran, was from a small lumber town in the Ottawa Valley. Her parents met in Ottawa after the war, married, had two babies, and then moved to Saskatchewan. Although the family travelled back to Ottawa every few years to visit that side of the family, the extended family that Dianne grew up with was her mother's family, who remain farm and ranch people. Dianne Walker (born March 8, 1951), also known as Lady Di, is an American tap dancer. Her thirty-year career spans Broadway, television, film, and international dance concerts. Walker is the Artistic Director of TapDancin, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts.
