Diane Towler
Diane Towler MBE married Green, (born 16 December 1946) is an English former ice dancer and currently a figure skating coach. She is a four-time (1966–1969) World and European champion with skating partner Bernard Ford. Personal life Diane Towler-Green was born 16 December 1946 in Kensington, London. She is the mother of ice dancers Candice Towler-Green and Phillipa Towler-Green, and the aunt of Mark Bosley. Career Towler was partnered with Bernard Ford by the duo's coach, Gladys Hogg. The two debuted at the World Championships in 1964, finishing 13th. In 1965, they finished just off the podium in 4th. Towler/Ford won gold at the 1966 European Championships and went on to win their first World title. They would win the World and European titles for four consecutive seasons. British Ice Figure And Dance Championships
The British Figure Skating Championships (known in some years as the ''British Ice Figure and Dance Championships'' and the ''British Ice Figure & Synchronized Skating Championships'') are a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of the United Kingdom. Figure skaters compete in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Not all disciplines have been held in every year due to a lack of participants. The competition is typically held in November or December; thus, for example, the 1962 Championships were held in November 1961 as part of the 1961–62 season. 2023 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2023 World Junior Figure Skating Championships was held in Calgary, Canada, from February 27 to March 5, 2023. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2024 World Junior Championships. On March 1, 2022, the ISU banned figure skaters and officials from Russia and Belarus from attending all international competitions due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Elizabeth Coates, sometimes known as Liz Coates, is a British ice dancing coach and former competitor. With Alan Abretti, she is the 1986 Fujifilm Trophy silver medalist and a two-time British national silver medalist. Life and career Coates grew up in south London, with her brother Gary, and trained at the ice rink in Streatham. Competing with Alan Abretti, she won silver medals at the 1985 and 1986 British Championships and at the 1986 Fujifilm Trophy. The duo placed 16th at the 1986 World Championships and competed at two European Championships, achieving their highest placement, 11th, in 1986. Phillip Poole
Phillip Poole (born 24 June 1981 in Windsor) is a multi-medal winning English ice dancer and ice dance coach. Competitive career Phillip Poole's skating career began in 1986 at the age of five and he competed at his first British Championships in 1991. In the 1990s he was the British champion in novice-level single skating. He was also the champion in intermediate-level solo ice dancing before commencing his couples ice dance career. With his second partner, Charlotte Clements, Poole became the 2002 British bronze medalist on the senior level. The following year he teamed up with Phillipa Towler-Green and was coached by former World Champion, Diane Towler.
