Diane Shalet
Diane Shalet (February 23, 1935 – February 23, 2006) was an American Broadway and television character actress. She was perhaps best known for her recurring role as Ms. Hawkins in the drama '' Matlock''. She made a guest appearance on ''The Monkees'' in the season-two episode, "The Fairy Tale", as the Fairy of the Locket (January 8, 1968). Career Shalet's Broadway credits include ''Tartuffe'' (1965), ''The Changeling'' (1964), ''But For Whom Charlie'' (1964), and ''After The Fall'' (1964). She also had roles in the touring companies of ''Bloomer Girl'', ''Brigadoon'', ''Connecticut Yankee'', and ''Oklahoma''. Films in which Shalet appeared included ''The Reivers'' (1969), ''Deadhead Miles'' (1972), and ''The Last Tycoon'' (1976). She also made over 200 guest appearances on episodic television shows. ''Deadhead Miles'' is a 1972 American road comedy film directed by Vernon Zimmerman from a script by Terrence Malick, and starring Alan Arkin, Bruce Bennett and Paul Benedict. Actors George Raft and Ida Lupino make cameos. Plot Cooper (Alan Arkin) and Durazno knock out a truck driver and steal his rig. They take it back to a shop where it is repainted and the numbers are filed. In it they find a truckload of carburetors. Cooper abandons Durazno at a gas station and sets out as an independent driver of the yellow Peterbilt. He picks up a hitchhiker (Paul Benedict) but refuses to also give a ride to the man's accompanying woman and dog. The Hulk is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in the debut issue of '' The Incredible Hulk'' (May 1962). ''The Last Tycoon'' is a 1976 American period romantic drama film directed by Elia Kazan and produced by Sam Spiegel, based upon Harold Pinter's screenplay adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's unfinished novel ''The Last Tycoon''. It stars Robert De Niro, Tony Curtis, Robert Mitchum, Jack Nicholson, Donald Pleasence, Jeanne Moreau, Theresa Russell and Ingrid Boulting. The film was the second collaboration between Kazan and Spiegel, who worked closely together to make ''On the Waterfront''. Fitzgerald based the novel's protagonist, Monroe Stahr, on film producer Irving Thalberg. Spiegel was once awarded the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
