Diane Menzies
Diane Helen Menzies (née Bright) is a New Zealand landscape architect. She is a former Environment Court commissioner, and served as president of the International Federation of Landscape Architects from 2006 to 2010. In 2008, she was invested as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to the environment. Early life and family Menzies was born Diane Helen Bright, the only daughter of Hazel Margaret Bright (née Kinder) and Trevor Norman Bright. Her father later became professor of banking at Massey University. In 1971, she became engaged to William Humphrey Menzies; they subsequently married and had two sons. Menzies is of Māori descent, and affiliates to Ngāti Kahungunu iwi. Lincoln University (New Zealand)
Lincoln University (Māori: ''Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki'') is a New Zealand university that was formed in 1990 when Lincoln College, Canterbury was made independent of the University of Canterbury. Founded in 1878, it is the oldest agricultural teaching institution in the Southern Hemisphere. It remains the smallest university in New Zealand (by enrolment) and one of the eight public universities. The campus is situated on of land located about outside the city of Christchurch, in Lincoln, Canterbury. National Science Challenge
The National Science Challenges (NSC) are 11 ten-year collaborative science programmes in New Zealand, established in 2014. They are "cross-disciplinary, mission-led programmes designed to tackle New Zealand’s biggest science-based challenges", and are funded through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Establishment The NSC initiative was developed over 2012–13 by the New Zealand government's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as a restructure of national scientific research funding.
