Diana Salazar Méndez
Diana Salazar Méndez (born 5 June 1981, Ibarra, Ecuador) is an Ecuadorian jurist and lawyer, and the current Attorney-General of Ecuador. She was said to be leading the country's fight against "narcopolitics" in January 2024. Early life and education Salazar spent her childhood in her native Ibarra, moving to Quito at age 16 with family. She was raised solely by her mother Olivia Méndez, an educational psychologist, along with three siblings. She is of Afro-Ecuadorian descent. Salazar has a degree in Political and Social Sciences from the Central University of Ecuador. She also has a master's degree in Procedural Law with a Criminal mention, from the Indoamérica Technological University. Rebeca Viviana Veloz Ramirez is an Ecuadorian politician who represents the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Province in the National Assembly (Ecuador), National Assembly. Esther Adelina Cuesta Santana (born 23 June 1975) is an Ecuadorian politician and a member of the National Assembly and The Citizens' Revolution. Cuesta was an undocumented immigrant in the United States and she represented the 800,000 Ecuadorian migrants in Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Life Cuesta was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 1975. José Adolfo Macías Villamar
José Adolfo Macías Villamar (born 30 September 1979), also known by the alias Fito, is an Ecuadorian drug trafficker and the current leader of Los Choneros cartel. He assumed leadership in 2020 following the murder of his predecessor Jorge Luis Zambrano. He had been incarcerated since 2011, having previously escaped prison and lived as a fugitive in 2013. In January 2024, he escaped from prison again, prompting a state of emergency to be called in Ecuador for sixty days and initiating the 2024 conflict in Ecuador. Criminal career Macías was first arrested in 2000 for committing robbery. In 2011, he was arrested for drug trafficking and organized crime and was imprisoned in La Roca Prison.
