Queen Diambi Kabatusuila Tshiyoyo Muata is the traditional queen of the Bakwa Luntu tribe of Central Kasaï in the historic Kingdom of Luba. Name Her name means "the bearer of good news". She Holds the title of Mukalenga Mukaji wa Nkashama wa Bakwa Luntu wa Baluba wa Kasaï wa Congo that means "Woman King of the Order of the Leopard of the Bakwa Luntu People who are from the Luba group of Kasaï in the Democratic Republic of Congo." Early life She was born in Belgium to a Belgian mother and Congolese father who was a diplomat in Belgium at that time. She grew up in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Education She graduated from the College of Staten Island as the valedictorian in 1992. Activism She is an environmental activist. She attended Davos in 2019. Kasaï-Central
Kasaï-Central is one of the 21 new provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo created in the 2015 repartitioning. Kasaï-Central and Kasaï provinces are the result of the dismemberment of the former Kasaï-Occidental province. Kasaï-Central was formed from the Lulua district and the independently administered city of Kananga which retained its status as a provincial capital. The new province's territory corresponds to the historic Luluabourg Province which existed in the early period after independence between 1963 and 1966. Luba People
The Luba people or Baluba are an ethno-linguistic group indigenous to the south-central region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The majority of them live in this country, residing mainly in Katanga, Kasai and Maniema. The Baluba Tribe consist of many sub-groups or clans who speak various dialects of Luba (e.g. Kiluba, Tshiluba) and other languages, such as Swahili. Kingdom Of Luba
The Kingdom of Luba or Luba Empire (1585–1889) was a pre-colonial Central African state that arose in the marshy grasslands of the Upemba Depression in what is now southern Democratic Republic of Congo. Origins and foundation Archaeological research shows that the Upemba depression had been occupied continuously since at least the 4th century AD. In the 4th century, the region was occupied by iron-working farmers. Over the centuries, the people of the region learned to use nets, harpoons, make dugout canoes, and clear canals through swamps. They had also learned techniques for drying fish, which were an important source of protein; they began trading the dried fish with the inhabitants of the protein-starved savanna. By the 6th century, fishing people lived on lakeshores, worked iron, and traded palm oil.
