Pour Some Sugar On Me
"Pour Some Sugar on Me" is a song by the English rock band Def Leppard from their 1987 album ''Hysteria''. It reached number 2 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on 23 July 1988, behind "Hold On to the Nights" by Richard Marx. "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is considered the band's signature song, and was ranked #2 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 80s" in 2006. Production Near the end of recording the album ''Hysteria'', during a production break, lead singer Joe Elliott was jamming with a riff he had come up with two weeks earlier on an acoustic guitar. Producer Mutt Lange, expressing great liking of it, suggested that it be developed into another song. Although already behind schedule, Lange felt that the album was still missing a strong crossover hit and that this last song had the potential to be one. Within two weeks the song was completed, smoothed out, and included as the twelfth track on ''Hysteria''. Elliott claims the song was at least partially inspired by the Aerosmith ...

Since 1992, the band has consisted of Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitar, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitar, backing vocals). They established themselves as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement of the early 1980s. The band's greatest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their first album, 1980's ''On Through the Night'', reached the Top 15 in the UK but received little notice elsewhere. Their second album, 1981's ''High 'n' Dry'', was produced by Mutt Lange, who helped them begin to define their melodic hard rock style, and the album's most popular track "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first rock videos played on MTV in 1982, but the album only reached the Top 30 and 40 in the UK and US. Request (broadcasting)
A request is a frequently offered feature by some form of broadcasting entity, initially started in radio. It is an effort by the broadcaster to become interactive with their audience, allowing a means for members of the audience to ask for something specific to happen; usually the playing of a specific song. The most common form of this is the telephone request line, where listeners are encouraged to call a specific telephone number to a radio station to give their request. Disk jockeys then would use various forms of identifying that the song they were about to play had been requested, either by playing a jingle to that effect, mentioning the requester by name, playing back a recording of the request phone call or even taking the request live on the air. Many disk jockeys have built their entire act and reputation around their method of dealing with requests. Similarly radio stations have built their format around taking requests. Some stations have even billed themselves as ...

Home Sweet Home (Mötley Crüe Song)
"Home Sweet Home" is a power ballad by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. It was originally released in 1985 on the album ''Theatre of Pain'', and again in 1991 for the ''Decade of Decadence 81-91'' compilation album. It has been covered by several artists, most notably country singer Carrie Underwood, who released her version as a single in 2009. Release Originally released on the band's 1985 album, ''Theatre of Pain'', the song was accompanied by a music video which documented the band's undertakings over the course of one or several concerts. Some of the original video was shot in Houston, Texas live at The Summit during the 1985 Theatre of Pain tour. They performed the song twice that night apparently to get more video footage. "Home Sweet Home" was released and remixed twice: once for the original promotion for the single in 1985. A radio only promo 12" with the remix was sent to stations, but not released commercially until the 1988 Japan-only EP '' Raw Tracks.'' ...
