Dhori Area
Dhori Area is one of the operational areas of the Central Coalfields Limited located mainly in the Bokaro district in the state of Jharkhand, India. The projects of the Dhori Area are: Amlo opencast, Dhori open cast, Selected Dhori Quarry No. I open cast, Selected Dhori Quarry No. III open cast, New Selected Dhori underground, Dhori Khas underground. The area office is at Dhori, PO Dhori 825102. Mining activity Mines and projects Amlo Open Cast Project has an annual capacity of 3.0 million tonnes per year. Selected Dhori Group of Mines: The mine is operational and proposed for production capacity expansion from 2.25 million tonnes per year to 8.25 million tonnes per year (nominal) and 11.0 million tonnes per year (peak). Dhori colliery accident One of the biggest disasters in the history of coal mining took place at Dhori colliery at about 1 AM on 28 May 1965. East Bokaro Coalfield
East Bokaro Coalfield is located in Bokaro district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Overview In 1917, L.S.S. O’Malley described the coalfields in the upper reaches of the Damodar as follows: “Near the western boundary of Jharia field is that of Bokaro, covering , with an estimated content of 1,500 million tons; close by… is the Ramgarh field , in which, however, coal is believed to be of inferior quality. Chas
Chas is a Municipal Corporation in the Chas subdivision of the Bokaro district in the state of Jharkhand, India. It is often referred to as a suburb of Bokaro Steel City, though it predates the steel plant. Chas is one of the fastest-growing urban regions in Jharkhand and was ranked as the cleanest city of Eastern India and the 19th cleanest city of India in 2018, according to Swachh Survekshan. History Once a small grain trading hub of the region, Chas became notable during the World War II, Second World War when the British government used it as a base to supply soldiers fighting in the Burma Campaign, eastern front against the Japanese.
