Dhoondigan
Dhoondigan is an administrative division of Fuvahmulah, Maldives. It is the most populous district and the second largest by area. This ward lies in the Southeastern corner of the island sharing borders with Mālegan and Funaadu. Economy The harbour and airport of Fuvahmulah is located in Dhoondigan. It also has a large marsh land area shared with Funaadu and Maalegan. In addition to that it also had a large area with many coconut trees and vegetation which was cleared to construct the airport in Fuvahmulah. In the past there was a large agricultural area which produced enough water melons and other crops which too have been replaced by the airport. Fuvahmulah
Fuvahmulah (Dhivehi: ފުވައްމުލައް) is an island (atoll) in the Maldives. It is under Maldives’ administrative divisions of Gnaviyani Atoll or Nyaviyani Atoll. The inhabitants speak a distinctive form of the Dhivehi language, known as "Fuvahmulaki baha.” Fuvahmulah means "Island of the Areca nut palms", ''Fuvah'' (or "Fuva") in the local language. Other places in the world like Penang in Malaysia and Guwahati in Assam, India, are also named after this nut. The original name of the island could have been Mulah, but was called Fuvahmulah (the ''Mulah'' with the areca nut palms) to distinguish it from Boli Mulah – another island in ancient Maldives. The admiralty charts and some geographers named the island ''Fua Mulaku''. In old French maps the island appeared under the name ''Poue Molluque''. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed
Mohamed Jameel Ahmed ( dv, މުޙައްމަދު ޖަމީލް އަޙުމަދު; born 13 October 1969) is a Maldivian lawyer and politician who was Vice President of the Maldives from 2013 to 2015. He previously served as Minister of Justice from July 2005 to August 2007, as Minister of Civil Aviation and Communication from November 2008 to May 2009 and as Minister of Home Affairs from February 2012 to May 2013. He was once a member of the New Maldives group. In 2015, he was impeached by the parliament and removed from office. Political career In July 2007, Jameel made history when he defied conservative Islamists and nominated three women judges, the first time the Maldives had admitted women to the judicial bench. Vice President of the Maldives is the holder of a public office created by the Constitution of the Maldives. The current office-holder is Faisal Naseem, since 17 November 2018. Ibrahim Muhammad Didi was the first vice president, and was an appointee, while Mohammed Waheed Hassan was the first elected vice president.
