Dhiruben Gordhanbhai Patel ( gu, ધીરુબેન પટેલ) is an Indian novelist, playwright and translator. Life Dhiruben Gordhanbhai Patel is born on 29 May 1926 in Baroda (now Vadodara, Gujarat) to Gordhanbhai Patel, a journalist with the Bombay Chronicle, and Gangaben Patel, a political activist and member of the Indian National Congress, All India Congress Committee. Her family belongs to Dharmaj village near Anand, Gujarat, Anand. She grew up and still resides in Santacruz, Mumbai, Santacruz, a suburb of Mumbai. She was educated at the Poddar school in Mumbai. She completed higher education from Elphinstone College. She completed B.A. in English in 1945 and M.A. in 1949 from Bhavan's College. She taught English in college at Dahisar in 1963-64 and later taught English literature at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. She briefly worked with Anand Publishers. ''Gujarati Vishwakosh'' ( gu, ગુજરાતી વિશ્વકોશ, ) is an encyclopedia in Gujarati, one of the official languages of India, published by Gujarat Vishwakosh Trust, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It can be considered the first full encyclopedia in the Gujarati language. Under the guidance of Dhirubhai Thaker, the work started in 1985 and ended in 2009 consisting of 25 volumes with 23,090 articles. History After the foundation of Gujarat state in 1960 on the linguistic basis, there was a need for literature available to the Gujarati speaking public. After years of efforts by Dhirubhai Thaker, the Gujarat Vishwakosh Trust was set up in December 1985 comprising many scholars and people of various disciplines. Dhruv Bhatt (Gujarati: ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટ) is a Gujarati language novelist and poet from Gujarat, India. Life Dhruv Bhatt was born on 8 May 1947 in Ningala village of Bhavnagar State (now Bhavnagar district, Gujarat) to Prabodhray Bhatt and Harisuta Bhatt. He studied at various places, standard 1 to 4 at Jafrabad and Matriculation from Keshod. After studying commerce for two years, he left further studying in 1972 and joined Gujarat Machine Manufacturers as Sales Supervisor. He voluntary retired and started writing career. Vinesh Antani is Gujarati novelist, short story writer and essayist from Gujarat, India. Life Vinesh Dinkarrai Antani was born on 27 June 1946 at Navavas near Mandvi (in Kutch district, Gujarat) India. His father was primary school teacher and his mother was interested in literature. He completed his secondary school from Nakhatrana and SSC in 1962. He completed Bachelor of Arts in Gujarati-Hindi from Bhuj in 1967 and Master of Arts in Gujarati-Sanskrit in 1969. The Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of literature in the languages of India. Founded on 12 March 1954, it is supported by, though independent of, the Indian government. Its office is located in Rabindra Bhavan near Mandi House in Delhi.
