Dhanapala Udawaththa
Kala Bhushana Thelge Wayaman Peiris ( Sinhala:ධනපාල උඩවත්ත: born 1 November), popularly known by stage name Dhanapala Udawatta, is a Sri Lankan singer. An indispensable singer on the outdoor stage, Udawaththa has been able to show his talents and sang several popular baila songs such as ''Ae Neela Warala'', ''Ma Adaraneeya Mage Amma Wethatai'', ''Man Italiye Thani Una'', ''Nelum Wile Nelum Nelana'' and ''Ranga Nadeeka''. Personal life Udawatta was born on 8 November in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa as the eldest of the family. He was educated at Egoda Uyana junior school and then in Egoda Uyana Sri Sunandopananda Vidyalaya. Moratuwa
Moratuwa ( si, මොරටුව, ta, மொறட்டுவை) is a large suburb of Colombo, on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka, near Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia. It is situated on the Galle–Colombo (Galle road) main highway, south of the centre of Colombo. Moratuwa is surrounded on three sides by water, except in the north of the city, by the Indian Ocean on the west, the Lake Bolgoda on the east and the Moratu river on the south. The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) ( si, ශ්රී ලංකා ගුවන් විදුලි සංස්ථාව, ''Shrī Lankā Guvan Viduli Sansthāva'', ta, இலங்கை ஒலிபரப்புக் கூட்டுத்தாபனம், ''Ilangkai Oliparappuk Kūṭṭuttāpaṉam'') came into existence on 5 January 1967 when Radio Ceylon became a public corporation. Wanniarachchige Malini Senehelatha Fonseka, popularly as Malini Fonseka ( Sinhala:මාලිනී ෆොන්සේකා) (born 30 April 1947, in Kelaniya) is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television as well as a director. Often considered as the "Queen of Sinhalese cinema", Fonseka first became widely known when she won the 'Best Actress Award' at the 1969 National State Drama Festival. Saman Chandranath Weerasinghe (5 July 1947 – 15 February 2022: සමන් චන්ද්රනාත් වීරසිංහ), was an award-winning Sri Lankan journalist, lyricist, poet, and novelist. Daisy Rasammah Daniels, known popularly as Rukmani Devi (15 January 1923 – 28 October 1978: si, රුක්මණී දේවී) was a Sri Lankan film actress and singer, who was often acclaimed as "The Nightingale of Sri Lanka". The Gypsies are a Sri Lankan baila Band (rock and pop), band that performs Sinhala language, Sinhala and English language, English songs. The band was founded in the early 1970s and has since garnered a huge fan base across Sri Lanka and is one of Sri Lanka's most famous bands. They are a highly paid band in Sri Lanka, as they constantly perform at parties, dances and at many concerts.
