Dhan Singh Negi
Dhan Singh Negi is an Indian politician who was a member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from 2017 to 2022 representing the Tehri constituency in Tehri Garhwal district. Previously affiliated to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he switched to the Indian National Congress party (INC) in early 2022. In the 2017 state assembly elections, he defeated Dinesh Dhanai, then Cabinet Minister by a large margin. Early life and education Dhan Singh Negi was born in 1970 as the youngest child of a poor family in Palkot, a remote village in Patti Lamridhar, Tehri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand), India. His education includes a Master of Physics at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and a Bachelor of Education teaching qualification. Tehri Garhwal District
Tehri Garhwal is a district in the hill state of Uttarakhand, India. Its administrative headquarters is at New Tehri. The district has a population of 618, 931 (2011 census), a 2.35% increase over the previous decade. It is the 7th ranked district of Uttarakhand by population. 2012 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2012 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election were the 3rd Vidhan Sabha ( Legislative Assembly) election of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Elections were held on 30 January 2012 when Indian National Congress emerged as the largest party with 32 seats in the 70-seat legislature and formed the government with the help of Progressive Democratic Front alliance (Bahujan Samaj Party, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (P) and Independents). 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election were the 4th Vidhan Sabha ( Legislative Assembly) election of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Elections were held on 15 February 2017 in a single phase for the 69 seats of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Voting in the Karnaprayag constituency was postponed until 9 March 2017 due to the death of BSP candidate Kuldeep Kanwasi in a road accident. Legislative Assembly elections were held in Uttarakhand on 14 February 2022 to elect 70 members of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Doon University ( hi, दून विश्वविद्यालय) is a state public university located in Dehradun in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. History The university was founded by order of the Government of Uttarakhand in October 2005. Its first courses started in July 2009. Kedarnath Temple
Kedarnath Temple (Sanskrit: केदारनाथ मंदिर, IAST: ''Kēdāranātha Mandira'', ) is a Hindu temple roughly 1200 years old dedicated to Shiva. The temple is located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river, in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to the general public only between the months of April ( Akshaya Tritiya) and November (Kartik Purnima, the autumn full moon). During the winters, the ''vigraha'' (deity) of the temple is carried down to Ukhimath to be worshipped for the next six months.
