Deyes High School
Deyes High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form situated in Maghull on the outskirts of Liverpool, England. History The school was opened in March 1939 by Sir Peter Meadon, Lancashire's director of education at a cost of £30,000. The school was later named Maghull Deyes Lane County Secondary School before the reorganisation as a comprehensive school in September 1972. A teaching block was extensively damaged by fire in October 1974. The school's swimming pool opened in January 1976, four months later than originally planned and costing around £200,000. Previously a community school administered by Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council, in October 2011 Deyes High School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Lydiate Learning Trust. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Missing Link (2019 Film)
''Missing Link'' is a 2019 American stop-motion animated adventure comedy film written and directed by Chris Butler. The film is produced by Laika and stars the voices of Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, David Walliams, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, Timothy Olyphant, Amrita Acharia, Ching Valdes-Aran, Emma Thompson, and Zach Galifianakis. Set in the Pacific Northwest, the plot follows Mr. Link, a Sasquatch who, with the help of British explorers Sir Lionel Frost and Adelina Fortnight, travels to the Himalayas to meet his Yeti cousins. Development on a new stop-motion Laika animated film on "Film Five" began in April 2018, with Butler to direct and write the project and the voice cast announced. ParaNorman
''ParaNorman'' is a 2012 American stop-motion animated comedy horror film directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler (the latter's feature directorial debut), and written by Butler. Produced by Laika, the film stars the voices of Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jodelle Ferland, Bernard Hill, Tucker Albrizzi, Anna Kendrick, Casey Affleck, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin, Elaine Stritch, Tempestt Bledsoe, Alex Borstein, and John Goodman. It is the first stop-motion film to use a 3D color printer to create character faces, and only the second to be shot in 3D. Teardrop Explodes
The Teardrop Explodes were an English post-punk/neo-psychedelic band formed in Liverpool in 1978. Best known for their Top Ten UK single "Reward", the group originated as a key band in the emerging Liverpool post-punk scene of the late 1970s. The group also launched the career of group frontman Julian Cope as well as that of keyboard player and co-manager David Balfe (later a record producer, A&R man and founder of Food Records). Other members included early Smiths producer Troy Tate. Along with other contemporary Liverpudlian groups, The Teardrop Explodes played a role in returning psychedelic elements to mainstream British rock and pop, initially favouring a modernised version of lightly psychedelic late '60s-influenced beat-group sound (sometimes described as "bubblegum trance") and later exploring more experimental areas. Paul Simpson is an English musician, vocalist, lyricist and writer from Liverpool, England, best known for his work with the Wild Swans and Care. Leslie Thomas Pattinson (born 18 April 1958 in Ormskirk, Lancashire) is an English musician, best known for his work as the bassist and co-writer of the Liverpool-based band Echo & the Bunnymen,Strong, Martin C. Will Sergeant
William Alfred Sergeant (born 12 April 1958) is an English guitarist, best known for being a member of Echo & the Bunnymen. Born in Walton Hospital, he grew up in the village of Melling and attended nearby Deyes Lane Secondary Modern. He is the group's only constant member. Career As a solo artist, Sergeant focused on minimalism and atmospherics, and usually released entirely instrumental music. Sergeant's first solo work was in 1978, when he self-produced ''Weird As Fish'' and made a total of seven copies. The album was officially released 25 years later. Early in the life of Echo & the Bunnymen, Sergeant recorded ''La Vie Luonge'', a soundtrack piece for a short Bunnymen concert film of the same name. James Graham (rugby League)
James Graham (born 10 September 1985) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played as a for St Helens in the Super League, and at international level for England and Great Britain After 224 appearances for Super League team St Helens, and having won a number of Championships and Challenge Cups with them, he moved to Sydney for the 2012 NRL season.
