''Devlin'' is a 1971 Australian television play. It was made as the pilot for a series but aired as a stand-alone television play. Premise At a seaside town, a priest who has spent time in prison in China falls in love with a widow. He keeps flashing back to his time in a Chinese prison. John Bell (Australian Actor)
John Anthony Bell AO OBE FRSN (born 1 November 1940) is an Australian actor, theatre director and theatre manager. He has been a major influence on the development of Australian theatre in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Early life Bell was born 1 November 1940 in Newcastle, New South Wales, and at age 9 or 10 moved with his family to the town of Maitland, New South Wales where he was educated at the Marist Brothers. Career While at High School, he developed and performed one-man shows. He worked with Old Tote Theatre Company. He spent five years with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Great Britain In the 1970s he taught at National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Anthony John "Tony" Ward (1924 – 9 May 2006) was an Australian television actor, director and producer and journalist. He is regarded as Australian television's original action star, on ''Hunter'', and was an inaugural reporter on two national current affairs programs, ''Seven Days'' and ''A Current Affair''. Kenneth Tsang Kong (; 5 October 1934 – 27 April 2022) was a Hong Kong actor. Tsang's career spanned 50 years and included a variety of acting roles. Tsang won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2015. Early life and education Tsang Koon-yat was born in Shanghai with family roots in , Zhuhai, Guangdong. Tsang attended high school in Wah Yan College, Hong Kong and then Wah Yan College, Kowloon. He attended McMurry College, Abilene, Texas for his freshman year and transferred to University of California, Berkeley, where he received a degree in architecture. Career Tsang returned to Hong Kong in the early 1960s as an architect but was unsatisfied by the work. His younger sister by 2 years, Jeanette Lin (), was a film star at the time and provided Tsang with several connections in the industry which boosted his acting career.
