Development (band)
Development was a progressive rock and pop band fronted by Colin Young, former lead singer of The Foundations. They were signed to Barry Class, Barry Class' Trend Records (UK label), Trend record label. The original Foundations had broken up in late 1970 and this new group would alternate between calling themselves Development and The Foundations. Background The Foundations broke up in late 1970. None of the Foundations, Eric Allandale, Pat Burke, Tony Gomez, Tim Harris (drummer), Tim Harris or Alan Warner (musician), Alan Warner came to be part of Development. The only other member from The Foundations besides Colin Young was Steve Bingham (bassist), Steve Bingham. Since late 1970, Barry Class attempted to have the Foundations name revived. Trend Records (UK Label)
Trend Records was an English Record label which existed from the late 1960s until the early 1970s. It issued recordings by such notable artists and personalities as Consortium (band), Consortium, The Foundations, Audrey Hall, Marcus Lipton, Julie Stevens (English actress), Julie Stevens, Warm Dust and Colin Young. Background In February 1968, the label was launched. They had entered into a deal with Associated Records. Promotion was handled by Richard Eddy of Trend and Andrew Vere of Saga Records. All of the acts that had been signed to Barry Class, Barry Class' company Barry Class Management would have their recordings issued on the label. Trend Records was a post-World War II United States jazz record label. Trend's back catalogue was purchased by Albert Marx, an authority on jazz music and entrepreneur who founded Discovery Records in 1948, and much of its material was reissued in the 1980s. Among those who recorded for Trend are Van Alexander, Robert Conti, Shelly Manne, Clare Fischer, Dick Berk, Matt Dennis and Ray Linn. Background Two men that were connected with the label were former Discovery Records chief, Albert Marx and a wealthy construction and oil man, Paul W. Trousdale. The label in its early days had the intent of releasing jazz, r&b, standards, western melodies and novelties. They were handling all the main formats at the time, 45s, 78s and long play records. Scotland Yard
Scotland Yard (officially New Scotland Yard) is the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police, the territorial police force responsible for policing Greater London's London boroughs, 32 boroughs. Its name derives from the location of the original Metropolitan Police headquarters at 4 Whitehall Place, which had its main public entrance on the Westminster street called Great Scotland Yard. Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles (also known as Bubbling Under the Hot 100) is a chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine in the United States. The chart lists the top songs that have not yet charted on the main ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Chart rankings are based on radio airplay, sales, and streams. In its initial years, the chart listed 15 positions, but expanded to as many as 36 during the 1960s, particularly during years when over 700 singles made the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Clem Curtis (born Curtis Clements; 28 November 1940 – 27 March 2017) was a Trinidadian British singer, who was the original lead vocalist of sixties soul group the Foundations. Background Early life Born in Trinidad as Curtis Clements, he arrived in England at the age of fifteen and later found employment as an interior decorator. He entered boxing and won most of his fights as a professional boxer. His mother was a popular singer in Trinidad and Curtis claims that this contributed to his ear for music. As a teenager he experienced racism when he and two white friends were charged with theft.
