Devastator (album)
''Devastator'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Phantom Planet. It was released on June 18, 2020 by Gong Records and preceded by the singles "Balisong", "Party Animal", "Time Moves On" and "Only One". This is their first studio album in 12 years since '' Raise the Dead'' (2008). The album was originally scheduled to be released on May 8, 2020, but was pushed back to June 19, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The release was later moved up one day earlier, as a sign of respect to the Black Lives Matter movement so it would not fall on the same day as Juneteenth. Phantom Planet
Phantom Planet is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1994. The band consists of Alex Greenwald (vocals, rhythm guitar), Darren Robinson (lead guitar), Sam Farrar (bass guitar) and Jeff Conrad (drums). The band is best known for its track "California", which became the theme song for the TV series ''The O.C.''. The band featured actor Jason Schwartzman on drums until 2003. On November 25, 2008, the band announced in a blog entry on their website that they are going on "hiatus, and will not be playing any more live shows or making any new records, indefinitely." They played their last pre-hiatus show on December 12, 2008, in Los Angeles. The band reunited in 2019, announcing that their hiatus was over. Tony Berg
Anthony Rains "Tony" Berg (born October 21, 1954) is an American musician, record producer, and A&R representative, in which role he has been described as an "industry guru". Berg's music career began in the late 1970s as a session guitarist who appeared on notable releases by artists including Air Supply and Debby Boone, as well as on ''The Rocky Horror Picture Show'' LP and several ''Muppet Show'' records. In the early 1980s, Berg founded Zeitgeist Studios. His first major success was with Michael Penn's 1989 debut ''March''. ''Raise the Dead'' is the fourth studio album by rock band Phantom Planet. It was released on April 15, 2008. The CD includes reworked versions of "Leader" and "Geronimo", both of which appeared on the ''Limited Edition Tour EP'', as well as a reworked version of "Do the Panic", which originally appeared on the band's 'bootleg' fanclub CD '' Phantom Planet: Negatives''. Early on in the recording process Phantom Planet's contract with Epic Records expired, which left them searching for a new record label. Soon after this, they signed to Fueled by Ramen, which produces bands such as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Panic at the Disco, The Hush Sound and The Academy Is.... Alexander Greenwald (born October 9, 1979) is an American musician, actor, and record producer. He is the lead vocalist of the California rock band Phantom Planet. Life and career Greenwald was born in Los Angeles, California, to a family of Jewish descent.
