Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme
The J. Chokka Rao Devadula lift irrigation scheme is a lift irrigation scheme in India. It is the second biggest of its kind in Asia. Devadula is the place in Mulugu District, Telangana, where the scheme's intake well is located. The foundation stone for this scheme was laid by then Chief Minister of Combined State Shri. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu in the year 2001. The Project The project is specially designed to lift water from the River Godavari to irrigate more than in the drought-prone Telangana state, India. Later it was named after the politician J. Chokkarao as the 'J. Chokkarao Devadula lift irrigation scheme'. The total work was divided into three phases for executional convenience in the year 2003. The minimum river water level required is 73 m MSL in the river to pump the water whereas the non-monsoon / lean season river water level is below 71 m MSL. Kakatiya Canal
Kakatiya Canal is a major canal in the Telangana State in India. Its full name is SRSP Kakatiya Canal as the canal originates from the Sriram Sagar dam. It feeds North Telangana by passing through the region for irrigation and as well as drinking water for major cities. Kakatiya Canal is about 284 km long with 9,700 cusecs flow capacity and passing through Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam Districts. Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project is the longest water canal project in the region of Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, India. The project was conceived to provide a reliable irrigation and drinking water supply for the region through drawing flood waters from the Srisailam reservoir. The first phase of the canal begins at Malyala and irrigates six lakh acres in four districts of Rayalaseema, while the second phase provides irrigation facilities and drinking water for Chittoor district. Pranahita Chevella Lift Irrigation Scheme
The Pranahita Chevella Lift Irrigation Project is a lift irrigation project to harness the water of Pranhita tributary of Godavari river for use in the Telangana state of India. The river water diversion barrage across the Pranahita river is located at Thammidihatti village in Komaram Bheem district of Telangana. This lift canal is an inter river basin transfer link by feeding Godavari river water to Krishna river basin. The chief ministers of Telangana and Maharashtra states reached an agreement in 2016 to limit the full reservoir level (FRL) of the barrage at 148 m msl with 1.85 tmcft storage capacity.
