Deutschland 89
''Deutschland 89'' is a German television series, starring Jonas Nay as Martin Rauch, an agent of East Germany following the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. It is a sequel to the 2015 series ''Deutschland 83'', and 2018 series ''Deutschland 86'', and premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 25 September 2020. Similarly to its two predecessors, the season received positive reception from critics, who mostly saw it as a fitting end to the series. Plot As the Berlin Wall falls, Stasi agents attempt to protect themselves from the fallout. The character Martin Rauch is told, "Do not imagine you can live a simple life. You now have three options: Either you are killed, you go to court, or you work in a secret service again." Anna Winger
Anna Winger (née LeVine; born 1970) is an American writer, producer, screenwriter, and photographer who lives in Berlin, Germany. She is creator of the television dramas ''Deutschland 83,'' ''Deutschland 86,'' ''Deutschland 89,'' and '' Unorthodox''. Early life and education Winger grew up in Massachusetts. Her parents are anthropologists, and their work led their family to live in Kenya and Mexico as well. She is Jewish. She graduated from Columbia University in 1993. Corinna Harfouch (; née Meffert; 16 October 1954) is a German actress. Life and work Harfouch was born in Suhl, East Germany, the daughter of the teacher Wolfgang Meffert and his wife Marianne (née Kleber). She worked as a nurse and studied acting in Berlin from 1978 to 1981. Her first husband was a Lebanese computer scientist named Nabil Harfouch, with whom she has one daughter. ''Deutschland 83'' is a 2015 German television series starring Jonas Nay as a 24-year-old native of East Germany who, in 1983, is sent to West Germany as an undercover spy for the HVA, the foreign intelligence agency of the Stasi.
