Deutsche Journalistenschule
The Deutsche Journalistenschule e.V. (), the German School of Journalism, is a journalism school in Germany. At the time of its establishment, it was the country's first German journalism school. Today, Deutsche Journalistenschule is considered one of the best schools for journalism in Germany, along with the Henri-Nannen-Schule in Hamburg. History It was founded in 1949 by Werner Friedmann, co-editor of ''Süddeutsche Zeitung''. He modeled the school after the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, which he saw while visiting the United States of America. The original name of the school, Werner Friedmann Institute, was later changed into ''Deutsche Journalistenschule e.V.'' (DJS), which means German School of Journalism. For the following decades, DJS was the only professional school for journalism in West-Germany. Bayerischer Rundfunk
Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR; "Bavarian Broadcasting") is a public-service radio and television broadcaster, based in Munich, capital city of the Free State of Bavaria in Germany. BR is a member organization of the ARD consortium of public broadcasters in Germany. History Bayerischer Rundfunk was founded in Munich in 1922 as Deutsche Stunde in Bayern. It aired its first program on 30 March 1924. The first broadcasts consisted mainly of time announcements, news, weather and stock market reports, and music. Programming expanded to include radio plays, concerts, programs for women, language courses, chess, opera, radio, news, and Catholic and Protestant morning services. Ulrich Wilhelm (born 8 July 1961 in Munich) is a German lawyer and journalist who has been serving as director of the Bayerischer Rundfunk ''(BR)'' since 2011. Career On 19 March 2015 the ''Rundfunkrat des Bayerischen Rundfunks'' chose him for a second term by 31 January 2021. Christine Westermann
Christine Westermann (born 2 December 1948 in Erfurt) is a German television and radio host, journalist and author. Radio and television career Westermann grew up in Mannheim. After finishing her Abitur she did an editorial traineeship at ' and attended the Deutsche Journalistenschule (German Journalism School) in Munich. Starting in 1972, she worked as a freelance journalist for several radio and TV stations, produced films and reports and moderated the ' on ZDF. Walther Von La Roche
Walther von La Roche (29 February 1936 in Munich – 9 May 2010, Herrsching am Ammersee) was a German journalist, author and journalism teacher. Until 2006 he taught as Honorary Professor of Radio Journalism at the University of Leipzig. Life Walther von La Roche already gained his first journalistic experience as a student. After graduation in 1954, he began studying law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, which he completed with the Assessor exam. In 1956 he received a scholarship from the Werner Friedmann Institute in Munich, the precursor of Deutsche Journalistenschule.
