Detlev Mehlis (born 1949) is the Senior Public Prosecutor in the Office of the Attorney General in Berlin. He has 30 years of prosecutorial experience and has led numerous investigations into serious, complex transnational crimes. He has been a senior public prosecutor since 1992 and has, over the course of his career, been responsible for prosecuting terrorism and organized crime cases. Most notably, he investigated the bombing on the discotheque La Belle in then West-Berlin in 1986, which claimed the life of two US soldiers and a Turkish woman, and uncovered the involvement of the Libyan intelligence service. He also proved the involvement of the terrorist Carlos and Syrian diplomats in the attack on the French culture centre Maison de France, also in West-Berlin, in 1983, as well as the involvement of Syrian intelligence services in the bombing of a German-Arab social center in Berlin in 1986. Detlev Karsten Rohwedder
Detlev Karsten Rohwedder (16 October 1932 – 1 April 1991) was a German manager and politician, as member of the Social Democratic Party. He was named president of the Treuhandanstalt, responsible for the privatisation of state-owned property in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR), in September 1990, and served until his assassination in April 1991. He had also served as CEO of steel manufacturer Hoesch AG since 1980. Murder On Monday, April 1, 1991, at 23:30, Rohwedder was shot and killed through a window on the second floor of his house in the suburb of Düsseldorf-Niederkassel (Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring 71) by the first of three rifle shots. The second shot wounded his wife Hergard; the third hit a bookcase. The shots were fired from 63 m away from a rifle chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO. Christian Detlev Reventlow
Christian Detlev, Count von Reventlow (1671–1738) was a Danish military leader and diplomat. Biography He was the son of Conrad, Count Reventlow, chancellor of Denmark and his first wife Anna Margarethe Gabel (1651-1678). He was a brother of Christine Sophie Holstein (1672–1757) and a half-brother of Anne Sophie Reventlow (1693–1743), second wife and queen consort of King Frederick IV of Denmark. Reventlow had a military career and fought in the Danish contingent against the French during the War of the Grand Alliance. In 1701 he was sent at the head of the Danish troops to fight the French in Italy during the War of Spanish Succession serving under Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736). He took part in the Battle of Höchstädt in 1704 and he was severely wounded in the Battle of Cassano in 1705. Detlev Peukert
Detlev Peukert (September 20, 1950 in Gütersloh – May 17, 1990 in Hamburg) was a German historian, noted for his studies of the relationship between what he called the "spirit of science" and the Holocaust and in social history and the Weimar Republic. Peukert taught modern history at the University of Essen and served as director of the Research Institute for the History of the Nazi Period. Peukert was a member of the German Communist Party until 1978, when he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany. A politically engaged historian, Peukert was known for his unconventional take on modern German history, and in an obituary, the British historian Richard Bessel wrote that it was a major loss that Peukert had died at the age of 39 as a result of AIDS.
