''Deth Red Sabaoth'' is the ninth studio album by American heavy metal band Danzig, released on June 22, 2010, through Evilive/The End Records. ''Deth Red Sabaoth'' marked Danzig's highest-charting album since the release of ''Danzig 4'' in 1994. Background Nearly two years in production, ''Deth Red Sabaoth'' is the first release of new Danzig studio material in six years, since 2004's ''Circle of Snakes''. Danzig is an American heavy metal band led by former Samhain and Misfits singer Glenn Danzig. Formed in 1987 in Lodi, New Jersey, the group early on became a unique voice in the rock scene, playing a bluesy, doom-laden metal with Glenn Danzig crooning in the style of Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley. Danzig's openly satanic lyrics and image stirred controversy. After a major hit with a live version of its 1988 song "Mother", the band experimented with industrial music but later returned to heavy metal. Steve Zing
Steve Zing (born Steven Paul Grecco; June 29, 1964) is an American drummer. He has performed with Implosion, Mourning Noise, and The Undead before joining Samhain. He graduated in 1982 from Lodi High School in Lodi, New Jersey together with Eerie Von and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein. Zing left Samhain in July 1985 shortly after the ''Unholy Passion'' EP was released. He was replaced by London May and returned briefly to The Undead in 1986. He later formed Chyna and played briefly for Rubella Umbrella in 1996. In 1999, Zing returned to Samhain for the reunion tour, playing the first half of the show on drums, and the second on bass. He later recorded with Son of Sam, which included AFI vocalist Davey Havok, then- Danzig guitarist Todd Youth and former Samhain and Tiger Army drummer London May. Thomas M. Victor (born 1961/1962) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for heavy metal band Prong, which he founded in New York City in 1986, as well as the guitarist for heavy metal band Danzig intermittently since 1996 and full-time since 2008. Johnny Kelly (born March 9, 1968) is an American musician, best known as the former drummer of gothic metal band Type O Negative. He is the current drummer for the bands Silvertomb, A Pale Horse Named Death, Kill Devil Hill, Danzig, and Quiet Riot. Career Kelly joined Type O Negative in 1994 to replace Sal Abruscato. ''Black Aria II'' is a 2006 album by Glenn Danzig and the follow-up to his 1992 '' Black Aria'' classical solo album. Despite being discussed in various interviews throughout the 1990s, ''Black Aria II'' was not released until October 17, 2006. The album reached the top 10 on the American '' Billboard'' classical music chart. The album was reissued, along with its predecessor, by Evilive/Cleopatra Records in July 2023. Music and recording The writing of ''Black Aria II'' was completed in early 2001. The recording began in late 2004, with the majority of tracks finished by early 2005. ''Circle of Snakes'' is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Danzig. It was released on August 31, 2004. It is the first studio album by the band since their debut recording not to have a number incorporated into its title (though the debut has often since been retroactively called "Danzig 1"). Music and recording ''Circle of Snakes'' was recorded at Ocean Studios and Paramount Recording Studios, both based in California. As with the band's eponymous debut, ''Circle of Snakes'' features a somewhat stripped-down sound.
