Det Jyske Kunstakademi
Jutland Art Academy ( da, Det Jyske Kunstakademi, abbreviated DJK), is a state recognized institute for higher education in Aarhus, Denmark, offering a 5-year programme in contemporary art. The academy has no departments and focuses on conceptually driven practices and transdisciplinary work. The academy has about 50 students. The school is located in the street of Mejlgade in the Latin Quarter of Aarhus. Other recognized Art Academies in Denmark comprise the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, and Funen Art Academy in Odense. There are other institutions which also use the name 'art academy', but none of these are state recognized as institutions of higher education. Poul Anker Bech
Poul Anker Bech (13 April 1942 – 7 October 2009) was a Danish painter. He started painting in the 1960s and studied at The Jutland Academy of Art in Aarhus, 1966–67. He quit his job in 1988 to become a full-time painter. Poul Anker Bech painted everyday landscapes and situations, from an unusual point of view. His motives often contain ironic or surrealistic elements. He himself has said that he would like his paintings to easily be remembered, without needing to understand their meaning. On 27 August 2003 a Danish 19-krone stamp was published using one of Poul Anker Bech's paintings, Det forjættede land (the promised land). He was the recipient of a lifetime stipendium from the Danish government's Art Fund, as well as several prizes. Aarhus Municipality ( da, Aarhus Kommune), known as Ã…rhus Municipality ( da, Ã…rhus Kommune) until 2011, is a municipality in Central Denmark Region, on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. Jytte Høy
Jytte Høy (born 1951) is a Danish contemporary artist whose installations and sculptures consist of simple, everyday materials and objects. From 1996 to 2007 she served as rector of the Jutland Art Academy in Aarhus. Among Høy's most notable exhibitions are "Apartment One" in her own apartment in Copenhagen in the mid-1990s and "Tankens Museum" (The Museum of Thought) in 2003 in Esbjerg. In both of these, she arranged exhibits so as to create a sprawling installation stretching from room to room. She is recipient of both the Eckersberg Medal and the Thorvaldsen Medal. Jesper Rewitz Rasmussen (born 4 January 1992) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Coming through the youth ranks of Haderslev FK, he struggled with injuries through his career. In 2009, he transferred to Esbjerg, and he signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2012. He made his league debut in a 1-2 home loss against AaB 27 June 2013, coming on as a substitute in the 80th minute.
