Desy Margawati
Ni Putu Desi Margawati (born 19 December 1980) is an Indonesian retired pole vaulter who enjoyed success on the continental level, especially around 2001–2003. On the continental scene she finished fourth at the 2000 Asian Championships, won the bronze medal at the 2002 Asian Championships, finished fifth at the 2002 Asian Games and won the bronze medal at the 2003 Asian Championships, then a few years later won the gold medal at the 2007 Asian Indoor Games and the bronze medal at the 2009 Asian Indoor Games. Bima
Bima (Indonesia: ''Kota Bima'') is a city on the eastern coast of the island of Sumbawa in central Indonesia's province West Nusa Tenggara. It is the largest city on the island of Sumbawa, with a population of 142,443 at the 2010 census and 155,140 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 156,224. Pole vaulting, also known as pole jumping, is a track and field event in which an athlete uses a long and flexible pole, usually made from fiberglass or carbon fiber, as an aid to jump over a bar. Pole jumping competitions were known to the Mycenaean Greeks, Minoan Greeks and Celts. It has been a full medal event at the Olympic Games since 1896 for men and since 2000 for women. It is typically classified as one of the four major jumping events in athletics, alongside the high jump, long jump and triple jump. It is unusual among track and field sports in that it requires a significant amount of specialised equipment in order to participate, even at a basic level.
