Destination (group)
Destination was a disco studio group from New York City who had two chart entries: In 1979, "Move On Up" / "Up Up Up" / "Destination's Theme," which spent four weeks at number one on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, and #68 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. Their second release : "My Number One Request"/"From Mortishia To Gomez Addams" (which consisted of parts from the original ''Addams Family'' theme song) spent three weeks at number one on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1980. A trio, Destination consisted of Danny Lugo, Kathleen Bradley (who would later become one of "Barker's Beauties" on ''The Price Is Right'') and Love Chyle Theus. Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, brass and horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars. Move On Up
"Move On Up" is a song by Curtis Mayfield from his 1970 debut album ''Curtis''. Nearly nine minutes long on the album version, it was released as a single in the United States (Curtom 1974), but failed to chart. An edited version of the song spent 10 weeks in the top 50 of the UK Singles Chart in 1971, peaking at number 12, and it has become a soul classic over the years. In 2021, it was listed at No. 474 on Rolling Stone's "Top 500 Best Songs of All Time". A slowed sample of the music was used for the 2005 hip hop song " Touch the Sky" by Kanye West. Kathleen Bradley is an American former model, former singer, actress and host. She is primarily known as a " Barker's Beauty" on the CBS daytime game show ''The Price Is Right'' from 1990 until 2000.
