''Destination'' is the fourteenth studio album by German rock band Eloy, released in 1992. It was the second album to be recorded with the new line-up of Frank Bornemann and Michael Gerlach. Eloy (band)
Eloy is a German rock band. Founded in 1969 by guitarist Frank Bornemann, the band is best known for their progressive rock music. History Founded in 1969 by guitarist Frank Bornemann, the band has endured several line-up changes, with Bornemann being the only consistent member of the group. In the 1980s, after a series of major splits in the group, Bornemann pursued a more commercial direction. However, in later years, former members of the band re-joined, and in 1998 released the album ''Ocean 2'', a return to the classic symphonic progressive rock genre for which the band was well known. Despite attracting a large following in Germany, the band never gained popularity in the United States. The name Eloy is based on the futurist race of humans from the book ''The Time Machine'' by H. Frank Bornemann
Frank Bornemann (born 27 April 1945) is a German guitarist and vocalist best known as part of the German progressive rock band Eloy. He is also the founder of the Horus Sound Studios in Hannover, Germany where he worked until 2014. Life Frank Bornemann has been active as a musician since the early 1960s. He founded the progressive rock band Eloy in 1969. As a discoverer and producer of the Guano Apes, he also celebrated success as a record producer. Bornemann founded music publishing house and the record label Artist Station and is active in the promotion of young artists. ''Chronicles I'' is the first of a two-part compilation of re-recorded hits by German rock band Eloy released in 1993. The second part, '' Chronicles II'' was released the following year. Early Eloy albums had relatively poor sound quality, leading Frank Bornemann to re-record some of their most popular songs using modern recording technologies. He invited some of the former members of the band to play on the album.From the album booklet ''Chronicles I'' contains songs from ''Ocean'' (1977), ''Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes'' (1979), ''Colours'' (1980), ''Planets'' (1981) and ''Time to Turn'' (1982) re-recorded and mixed in 1993.
