Desperado (band)
Desperado was an American heavy metal band formed by Dee Snider in 1988, after Twisted Sister was disbanded. The band dissolved in the early 1990s due to problems with the record label and the then emerging grunge trend. The album, much bootlegged, was issued officially some years later and reissued as Ace on ''Angel Air''. ''Dee Snider Desperado Limited Edition'' was released on April 21, 2009, featuring eleven tracks from '' Bloodied But Unbowed''. Van Helsing's Curse
Van Helsing's Curse is a side project, orchestra of Twisted Sister lead singer, Dee Snider. Along with Snider, the group featured a five-piece rock band, a six-piece choir, and six-piece string section. History Snider came up with the idea for the group after seeing a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert but he wanted an orchestra that featured a Halloween theme. The group, named after fictional vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, would release their first album in 2003 under the title ''Oculus Infernum'', which in Latin means "eye of hell." The concept album, narrated by Snider himself, tells the fictional story of a young boy, orphaned after an entity murders all the adults in his town. The child, then wanting revenge, comes upon one of the descendants of Van Helsing and teams with him to try and put an end to the entity. Clive Burr
Clive Ronald Burr (8 March 1957 – 13 March 2013) was an English drummer. He was a member of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden from 1979 to 1982. Career Previously a member of Samson, Burr joined Iron Maiden in 1979. Auditioning and joining upon the recommendation of then-Iron Maiden guitarist Dennis Stratton, Burr played on their first three records: ''Iron Maiden'', '' Killers'' and their breakthrough release '' The Number of the Beast'', the last of which was the Maiden debut of Bruce Dickinson. Burr was fired from the band in 1982 during The Beast on the Road tour. He was replaced by the band's current drummer, Nicko McBrain. Bernie Tormé
Bernie Tormé (born Bernard Joseph Tormey; 18 March 1952 – 17 March 2019) was an Irish rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, record label and recording studio owner. Tormé is best known for his work with Gillan, as well as his brief stints with Ozzy Osbourne. He also wrote and recorded with Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider and toured with Atomic Rooster. Early career The Ranelagh-born Tormé was inspired by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, and Gary Moore. He formed his first band at a young age. ''Bloodied, but Unbowed'' is the debut album by the American band Desperado. It was released by Destroyer Records in 1996. Re-titled under its original title, ''Ace'', it was re-issued in 2006 by Angel Air Records in the UK (including extensive sleeve notes by Record Collector magazine's Joe Geesin, featuring interviews by Bernie Tormé and Dee Snider) and Deadline Records in the U.S. with the songs "Easy Action" and "Heart of Saturday Night" cut from the track listing. Argentina's Del Imaginario Discos also released the album in 2007. Eddie Ojeda
Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (born August 5, 1955 in New York City, New York) is an American musician best known as a guitarist of the heavy metal band Twisted Sister. He was a member of the band's classic lineup. Career In the early 1970s he recorded a couple of singles with a band called SPX, with Alan Diaz, Charlie Mercado and Frank Lopez. He joined Twisted Sister in 1975, becoming one of the band's classic members along with Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Mark Mendoza and AJ Pero. He played on each of the band's first five albums before their first breakup in 1988. In 1989 he started the band Scarecrow. Hammerhead (band)
Hammerhead is a Minneapolis-based noise rock band active in the early 1990s. Members went on to form the band Vaz. History Hammerhead was formed in Moorhead, Minnesota in the early 1990s, with members Paul Erickson, Jeff Mooridian Jr. and Paul Sanders, later moving to Minneapolis. The band released extensively through Amphetamine Reptile Records. Their major breakthrough album ''Duh the Big City'' garnered them critical acclaim, however after its release Paul Sanders left the group. The Ian Gillan Band were an English progressive jazz-rock band formed by singer Ian Gillan of Deep Purple in 1975. Alcatrazz is a heavy metal band formed in 1983 by Graham Bonnet, Jimmy Waldo, and Gary Shea. Following an internal disagreement and split in 2020, there are currently two separate and distinct Alcatrazz line-ups, one featuring Bonnet, and another featuring Waldo and Shea. Alcatrazz are best known for their songs "Island in the Sun", "Hiroshima Mon Amour", and "God Blessed Video". The band went through a number of line-up changes, with Bonnet being the only member to be in every incarnation of Alcatrazz. They are also notable for featuring a previously-unknown Yngwie Malmsteen, who was the guitarist of Alcatrazz during 1983–1984, and was subsequently replaced by Steve Vai, and Danny Johnson in the original incarnation of the band up until 1987. Magellan were a progressive metal/rock band formed in San Francisco, California, United States by brothers Trent and Joel Wayne Gardner in 1985.
