Desert Vet
''Desert Vet'' is an Australian factual television series. It follows the work of emergency veterinarian Dr Rick Fenny. The series is filmed in Western Australian locations such as Karratha, Port Hedland, Shark Bay and Kalgoorlie. Fenny is best known as the veterinarian of Red Dog. He is joined by his marine biologist son Ed and daughter Louisa, who is also a vet. The series is narrated by Charles Wooley. Desert Vet was screened as a pilot on the Seven Network in 2018 before screening as a series on the Nine Network and UKTV in 2019. Factual television is a genre of non-fiction television programming that documents actual events and people. These types of programs are also described as observational documentary, fly on the wall, docudrama, and reality television. Shark Bay (Malgana: ''Gathaagudu'', "two waters") is a World Heritage Site in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Kalgoorlie
Kalgoorlie is a city in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia, located east-northeast of Perth at the end of the Great Eastern Highway. It is sometimes referred to as Kalgoorlie–Boulder, as the surrounding urban area includes the historic townsite of Boulder and the local government area is the City of Kalgoorlie–Boulder. Red Dog (Pilbara)
Red Dog (c. 197121 November 1979) was a kelpie/cattle dog cross that was well known for his travels through Western Australia's vast Pilbara region. Red Dog had a series of owners and lengthy periods travelling on his own, essentially becoming a beloved friend and mascot of the greater Pilbara community. A statue was installed in his memory in Dampier, one of the towns to which he often returned. He is frequently referred to as a "red kelpie" or a "red cloud kelpie". Story Red Dog was believed to have been born in the town of Paraburdoo, Western Australia in 1971. Red Dog was called by a variety of names by those who knew him, including Bluey, Tally Ho, and Dog of the Northwest. Tally Ho was his first name, given to him by Colin Cummings, who is believed to have been his first owner, and brought him to Dampier. Charles Wooley
Charles Wooley (born 1948) is a Scottish-Australian journalist, reporter, writer, TV personality and radio presenter who reported for Channel Nine's ''60 Minutes''. Early life and career Wooley was born on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, and moved to Launceston, Tasmania aged three. At the age of 16 Wooley moved to Hobart where he gained an honours degree in history from the University of Tasmania. ''Bondi Vet'' is an Australian factual television series. It follows the lives of veterinary surgeon Chris Brown at the Bondi Junction Veterinary Hospital (near Bondi Beach), and emergency veterinarian Lisa Chimes at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH), in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde. Also featured on ''Bondi Vet'' are Andrew Marchevsky, a specialist surgeon at SASH, and Tim Faulkner of the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby on the New South Wales central coast.
