The Deseret News Publishing Company is a publishing company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It is a subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation (DMC), a holding company owned by the Corporation of the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The company publishes the daily Salt Lake City area newspaper, ''Deseret News'', and its weekly inserts the ''Church News'' and ''Mormon Times''. It also publishes a semi-weekly Spanish paper, ''OKespañol'', and the '' Deseret News Church Almanac''. The company was incorporated in 1931 to direct the operations of the ''Deseret News'', which until then was owned directly by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Duell, Sloan and Pearce was a publishing company located in New York City. It was founded in 1939 by C. Halliwell Duell, Samuel Sloan and Charles A. Pearce. Willard Richards (June 24, 1804 – March 11, 1854) was a physician and midwife/nurse trainer and an early leader in the Latter Day Saint movement. He served as second counselor to church president Brigham Young in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1847 until his death. Brigham Young (; June 1, 1801August 29, 1877) was an American religious leader and politician.
