Des Moines Area Community College
Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) is a public community college in central Iowa. The college served 35,488 credit students and 29,021 noncredit students in 200 programs in 2019. History Des Moines Area Community College was created on March 18, 1966. The first classes were held on the Ankeny Campus in 1968. DMACC has experienced tremendous growth in the last two decades. In the fall of 2000, 10,803 students were enrolled at DMACC. By the fall of 2011, that number grew to 25,425. Academics DMACC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and approved by the Iowa State Department of Education. The college is governed by a nine-member board of directors, each representing one of the nine districts the college serves. Campuses DMACC's primary campus is in Ankeny, a northern suburb of Des Moines. Scott Anthony Schebler (born October 6, 1990) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is currently a free agent. Scott grew up in Shueyville, Iowa and attended Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids. Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball
The Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team is part of the University of Iowa athletics department. The Hawkeyes have played in 28 NCAA Tournaments, eight NIT Tournaments, won eight Big Ten regular-season conference championships and won the Big Ten tournament three times. Iowa has played in the Final Four on three occasions, reaching the semifinals in 1955 and 1980 and playing in the championship game against the University of San Francisco in 1956. Bucky O'Connor
Frank "Bucky" O'Connor (December 21, 1913 – April 22, 1958) was a college men's basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team from 1949 to 1958. Born in Monroe, Iowa, O'Connor spent much of his early life playing golf, as his parents managed a country club. O'Connor attended and played basketball at Newton High School (Iowa), Newton High School and Drake University; he became team captain in his senior year of college despite his slight frame and bad eyesight. Lori Susan "Lolo" Jones (born August 5, 1982) is an American hurdler and bobsledder who specializes in the 60-meter and 100-meter hurdles. She won three NCAA titles and garnered 11 All-American honors while at Louisiana State University. She won indoor national titles in 2007, 2008, and 2009 in the 60-meter hurdles, with gold medals at the World Indoor Championship in 2008 and 2010.
