Des Keogh
Desmond Keogh (born 27 February 1935) is an Irish actor. He was born in Birr, County Offaly. He was trained as a lawyer before entering the theatre in his twenties. He has toured widely in a one-man show called ''The Love-Hungry Farmer'', an adaptation by Keogh from a work by the Irish playwright John B. Keane. He has also appeared in a one-man show of ''Confessions of an Irish Publican'' by the same playwright. Keogh has worked with major Irish theatre companies, and also in the London theatre. His film credits include ''Ryan's Daughter'', ''Ulysses'', and ''Flight of the Doves''. For approximately 35 years, Keogh hosted a weekly radio program for RTÉ's Light Programme called ''Music for Middlebrows''. It was also the name of book on the subject he wrote in 1998. Birr, County Offaly
Birr (; ga, Biorra, meaning "plain of water") is a town in County Offaly, Ireland. Between 1620 and 1899 it was called Parsonstown, after the Parsons family who were local landowners and hereditary Earls of Rosse. Birr is a designated Irish ''Heritage Town'' with a carefully preserved Georgian heritage. Birr itself has graceful wide streets and elegant buildings. Many of the houses in John's Place and Oxmantown Mall have exquisite fanlight windows of the Georgian period. The town is known for Birr Castle and gardens, home of the Parsons family, and also site of the Leviathan of Parsonstown, the largest telescope in the world for over 70 years, and a large modern radio telescope. Olney Theatre Center For The Arts
Located in Olney, Maryland, the Olney Theatre Center offers a diverse array of professional productions year-round that enrich, nurture, and challenge a broad range of artists, audiences and students. One of two state theaters of Maryland, Olney Theatre Center is situated on in the middle of the Washington–Baltimore–Frederick "triangle." There are three indoor venues: the Historic Theatre, the Mainstage, and the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab. There is also an outdoor venue, the Root Family Stage.
