Derrick Dillon
Derrick Dillon (born October 28, 1995) is an American football wide receiver for the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at LSU. Early life and high school Dillon attended Pine High School in Franklinton, Louisiana. Dillon initially committed to Florida but switched his commitment to LSU. College career Dillon redshirted his freshman year and played eight games, primarily on special teams as a redshirt freshman. As a sophomore in 2017, he rushed for 86 yards on 15 rushes and added 125 yards on 14 receptions. Dillon caught a 71-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown reception against Auburn in 2018. He also had a 49-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow in the Fiesta Bowl victory over UCF. Dillon caught 22 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. 2023 Pittsburgh Maulers Season
The 2023 season was the Pittsburgh Maulers' 2nd season in the United States Football League and their 1st under the head coach/general manager tandem of Ray Horton and Lonnie Young. With their second win of the season in Week 5 against the Michigan Panthers, they improved upon their 1–9 record from the previous season, which was a league worst. By defeating the New Jersey Generals in Week 10, they clinched their first-ever playoff berth. They also clinched their first division title the following day when the Panthers defeated the Philadelphia Stars. Pittsburgh later defeated the Panthers in the USFL North Division Championship Game, advancing to their first USFL Championship, where they were defeated by the Birmingham Stallions. A return specialist or kick returner is a player on the special teams unit of a gridiron football team who specializes in returning punts and kickoffs. There are few players who are exclusively return specialists; most also play another position such as wide receiver, defensive back, or running back. 2022 USFL Draft
The 2022 USFL Draft, also known as the 2022 USFL Player Selection Meeting, was the player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams for the 2022 USFL season. The draft was held on February 22–23, 2022, with results released through the USFL's social media channels. Structure The USFL player allocation process will be held in multiple phases, separated by position groups. The league will use a "snake" format in each phase, in which the draft order reversed with each round. The draft order will be shuffled for each phase as predetermined through lotteries. The UCF Knights football team represents the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the sport of American football. The Fiesta Bowl is an American college football bowl game played annually in the Phoenix metropolitan area. From its beginning in 1971 until 2006, the game was hosted at the Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Since 2007, the game has been played at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
