Derek McGrath (footballer)
Derek McGrath (born 21 January 1972 in Dublin) is a retired Irish footballer. Derek was a midfielder who played for Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians, Waterford United, Kilkenny City and Monaghan United during his career in the League of Ireland. He signed for Rovers in January 1992 from Brighton & Hove Albion where he had made 6 appearances and made his debut at Bray Wanderers on 19 January. McGrath had made one appearance for Brighton in the 1990-91 FA Cup at Anfield. He scored 7 goals in 27 league appearances as Rovers won the League in 1994. He also made 2 appearances in the 1994-95 UEFA Cup for the Hoops. He moved to Bohemians in July 1996 and made his debut in a 1996-97 UEFA Cup tie against FC Dinamo Minsk. He made 4 appearances for Bohs in Europe all in the UEFA Cup. His father Joe played and managed in the League of Ireland. Bray Wanderers
Bray Wanderers Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Fánaithe Bhré) are an Irish association football club playing in the League of Ireland First Division. The club in its present form was founded in 1942 in Bray, and was known until 2010 as ''Bray Wanderers A.F.C.'' Shamrock Rovers Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige) is an Irish association football club based in Tallaght, South Dublin. The club's senior team competes in the League of Ireland Premier Division and it is the most successful club in the Republic of Ireland. The 1991 FIFA World Youth Championship was the eighth staging of the FIFA World Youth Championship, an international football competition organized by FIFA for men's youth national teams, and the eighth since it was established in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Tournament. Joe McGrath (Irish Footballer)
Joe McGrath (born in Dublin) is an association football coach who managed the New Zealand national team. McGrath first took charge of the New Zealand side in May 1997. New Zealand won three, drew three and lost six of his 12 games in charge. He later coached Irish sides Bohemian F.C. and Kilkenny City. During his spell at Oriel Park McGrath won the 1964-65 LFA President's Cup. He moved to Drumcondra F.C. in March 1966 making his debut against his former club. He played twice against Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1966–67 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. On 5 June 1966 at Dalymount Park McGrath played in the first ever Republic of Ireland U23 game. He was also an amateur international. In November 1966 McGrath moved to Limerick F.C. and scored twice on his debut on the 20th. A fully qualified UEFA coach, he took over as Irish Youths team coach in 1985 in succession to Liam Tuohy (footballer) and was later appointed FAI Director of Coaching.
