Derek Kenway
Derek Anthony Kenway (born 12 June 1978) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm Seam bowling, medium pace, who can also play as a wicketkeeper. First-class debut and early career Born in Fareham, Kenway made his first-class cricket, first-class debut for home county Hampshire County Cricket Club, Hampshire in the 1997 County Championship. The following season he made his List A cricket, List A debut against Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Glamorgan in the 1998 Pro40, AXA League. In 1999, he passed 1,000 first-class runs for the season, the only time he would do so in his career, also scoring his maiden first-class century (cricket), century in that season. Fareham
Fareham ( ) is a market town at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in south east Hampshire, England. ECB National Academy
The National Cricket Performance Centre first came into existence in the winter of 2001–2002 and has been based at Loughborough University since 2003. In 2007 following the "Schofield Report" the National Academy was renamed the National Cricket Performance Centre. It consists of a state of the art £4.5 million indoor training complex. Facilities include lanes enabling full runups for fast bowlers and wicket-keepers stood back, Hawk-Eye cameras and advanced biomechanics analysis equipment. In addition to the indoor complex the academy also provides top class outdoor training facilities. Derbyshire County Cricket Club
Derbyshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Derbyshire. Its limited overs team is called the Derbyshire Falcons in reference to the famous peregrine falcon which nests on the Derby Cathedral (it was previously called the Derbyshire Scorpions until 2005 and the Phantoms until 2010). Founded in 1870, the club held first-class status from its first match in 1871 until 1887. Rose Bowl, Southampton
The Rose Bowl, known for sponsorship reasons as Ageas Bowl is a cricket ground and hotel complex in West End, Hampshire. It is the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club, who have played there since 2001. It was constructed as a replacement for the County Ground in Southampton and also the United Services Recreation Ground in Portsmouth, which had been Hampshire's homes since 1882. Hampshire played their inaugural first-class match at the ground against Worcestershire on 9–11 May 2001, with Hampshire winning by 124 runs. Batting Average (cricket)
In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). The number is also simple to interpret intuitively. If all the batter's innings were completed (i.e. they were out every innings), this is the average number of runs they score per innings. The 2002 English cricket season was the 103rd in which the County Championship had been an official competition. Surrey were crowned champions but 2001 county champions Yorkshire were relegated. Chris Tremlett
Christopher Timothy Tremlett (born 2 September 1981) is a former English cricketer who played international cricket for England and domestically for Hampshire and Surrey. He was a tall fast-medium bowler able to extract bounce on most surfaces. Tremlett started his playing career with Hampshire in 2000 and was awarded his county cap in 2004. He made his One Day International debut in 2005, and two years later played his first Test. Tremlett played three Tests in 2007 before injury interrupted. Tremlett moved to Surrey for the start of 2010 after struggling with injury. Following this move, he forced his way back into the Test team and participated in England's victory in the 2010–11 Ashes in Australia.
