Derek Nathaniel Bell (born December 11, 1968) is an American former Major League Baseball player. Primarily a right fielder and center fielder, Bell batted from the right side and threw with his right hand. He is 6'2" tall, and during his playing career, he weighed 215 pounds. Amateur and minor league career Bell is one of only eleven players to play in both the Little League World Series and the Major League World Series. In 1980 Little League World Series, 1980 and 1981 Little League World Series, 1981 Bell played for Belmont Heights Little League in Tampa, Florida, winning the US championship and losing to Taiwan in the world championship game both years. (Bell is also the only player to appear in the LLWS ''twice'' and later in the big-league World Series.) When he reached C. Derek Martin Bell (born 30 October 1956 in Wyberton, Lincolnshire) was an English footballer who played for Lincoln City football club. An apprentice with Derby County, he started his professional career with Halifax Town. Bell had a brief loan with Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Barnsley. After one season at Oakwell he was signed by Lincoln City for a record fee of £34,000. In his first season with the Imps, he scored 20 goals in 46 games. At the beginning of his second season he broke his leg, which then leg to a succession of injury problems. Bell left Lincoln City in 1983, moving to Chesterfield for £8,500. Derek Stewart Bell (born 19 December 1963) is a former professional footballer who played for Newcastle United and, later as a semi-professional, for Gateshead, as a midfielder. Bell joined Newcastle as an apprentice in 1979, and made four first team appearances (one as a substitute). He sustained a serious knee injury in a reserve match against Manchester United, and, after leaving Newcastle, he played semi‑professional football for Gateshead, while working in Newcastle City Council's housing department. Bell was also manager, director and chairman at Gateshead. During his time at the Montagu and North Fenham boys football club in the late 1970s, Bell was sexually abused by Newcastle coach George Ormond. Derek Reginald Bell (born 31 October 1941 in Pinner, Middlesex, England) is a British racing driver. In sportscar racing, he won the Le Mans 24 hours five times, the Daytona 24 three times and the World Sportscar Championship twice. He also raced in Formula One for the Ferrari, Wheatcroft, McLaren, Surtees and Tecno teams. George Derek Fleetwood Bell, MBE (21 October 1935 – 17 October 2002) was a Northern Irish harpist, pianist, oboist, musicologist and composer who was best known for his accompaniment work on various instruments with The Chieftains. As classical composer and virtuoso Bell was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Because he had been misdiagnosed at an early age as having a disease that would lead to blindness, his parents gave him a musical upbringing. He was something of a child prodigy, composing his first concerto at the age of 12. He graduated from the Royal College of Music in 1957. While studying there, he became friends with the flautist James Galway. From 1958 to 1990 he composed several classical works, including three piano sonatas, two symphonies, ''Three Images of Ireland in Druid Times'' (in 1993) for harp, strings and timpani, ''Nocturne on an Icelandic Melody'' (1997) for oboe d'amore and piano and ''Three Transcendental Concert Studies'' (2000) for oboe and piano. Derek Bell is Professor of Acute Medicine at Imperial College London. Bell is the director of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) CLAHRC for Northwest London. He was President (2014 - 2020) of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, elected in November 2013 he took office on 1 March 2014 succeeding Neil Dewhurst.
