Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1960 was the cricket season when the English club Derbyshire had been playing for eighty nine years. It was their fifty-sixth season in the County Championship and they won ten matches and lost ten to finish eighth in the County Championship. 1960 season Derbyshire played 28 games in the County Championship, one match against the touring South Africans, one match against Oxford University, and an extra match against Northamptonshire. They won ten matches, lost ten matches and drew eleven matches. Donald Carr was in his sixth year as captain. Laurie Johnson was top scorer and Les Jackson took most wickets for the club. This is a list of seasons played by Derbyshire County Cricket Club in English cricket, from the club's formation in 1870. Early years 1871–1887 Derbyshire played their first matches in 1871. For the first three years their only opponents were Lancashire. When Kent joined in 1874, by a quirk of scoring which was based on games lost, they were County Champion. The club was bedevilled by financial problems, and in 1888 the sporting press decided no longer to accord them first class status. Wilderness years 1888–1893 From 1888 Derbyshire's matches were not accorded first class status. Charles Lee (cricketer)
Charles Lee (17 March 1924 – 4 September 1999) was an English first-class cricketer, who played two matches for Yorkshire in 1952, one for the Minor Counties in 1953, and 268 matches for Derbyshire between 1954 and 1964. He captained Derbyshire in his last two seasons in the game, and scored over 12,000 runs for the club. Lee was born in Eastwood, Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, and became a schoolteacher after leaving the RAF in 1947. He appeared for Yorkshire Second XI for a couple of seasons before making his debut against Scotland. He played his only County Championship game for Yorkshire against Surrey in August 1952, deputising for Len Hutton, and was an instant success, opening the batting and scoring 74 and 14 as Yorkshire cruised to a nine wicket win. Despite this bright start Lee was not retained by the county, and his county career might have ended there. Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Robert Berry (29 January 1926 – 2 December 2006) was an English cricketer. He played in two Test matches in 1950. He played county cricket for Lancashire from 1948 to 1954, for Worcestershire from 1955 to 1958, and for Derbyshire from 1959 to 1962. Derek Morgan (cricketer)
Derek Clifton Morgan (26 February 1929 – 4 November 2017) was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire County Cricket Club between 1950 and 1969, captaining the side between 1965 and 1969. An all-rounder, he is the only Derbyshire cricketer besides Leslie Townsend to have achieved the double of 10,000 runs and 1,000 wickets. Morgan was born in Muswell Hill, London. He made his first-class debut for Derbyshire in the 1950 season against Northamptonshire in May, when he took two wickets in the first innings and was not out in his only batting innings. He played occasionally for the second XI but was soon established as a first team regular. In the 1951 season he took 6 for 93 against Gloucestershire.
