Derbent, Konya
Derbent is a municipality and district of Konya Province, Turkey. Its area is 359 km2, and its population is 4,052 (2022). Its area is 359 km², of which approximately 10 km² is irrigable and the total area of 156 km² is agricultural land. The remaining part is settlements, forest and pasture land. In the Ottoman Period, the word "derbent" was used to mean department. In this sense, the outposts used in passages and straits on mountains are called "derbents". Derbent remained within the borders of the Eshrefids Principality during the Seljuk period. Eşrefoğulları Principality borders includes the borders of Ilgın, Bolvadin and Akşehir after Beyşehir and Seydişehir. Cities such as Bozkır, Şarkikaraağaç, Yalvaç, Gelendost, Kıreli, Doğanhisar and even Çal were sometimes included within the borders of the principality. Bozkır is a town and district of Konya Province in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. According to 2008 census, population of the district is 31,601 of which 7,212 live in the town of Bozkır. Çal
Çal is a town and a district of Denizli Province in the inner Aegean region of Turkey. Çal district area occupies a central position in the northern part of its province and neighbors the central district of Denizli to the south-west and the district areas of Güney to the west and Honaz to the south. SeydiÅŸehir
Seydişehir is a town and district of Konya Province in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. According to a 2000 census, the population of the district is 85,456 of which 48,372 live in the town of Seydişehir. History Seydişehir has an extensive historical record extending back many centuries. In 5500 BC, Seydişehir bordered the ancient province of Psidia and some historical building may date to this era. The city is situated in a valley between Lake Trogitis and Lake Karalis. Pre-historic buildings are preserved within the valley.
